Time for a Freeper Headline Poll.
My local fishwrap and birdcage liner (the Atlanta Urinal & Constipation) had above-the-fold, full width headline "Bush Targets Medicare".
This is a pretty left-biased headline. What did other newspapers publish on this Medicare topic. Headline and location of story in the paper?

I can't even FIND the story in the Indianapolis paper!! I have been all over their web site, and it is not to be found!
Probably it will show up tomorrow with a creative headline. I will check this thread later to see what contributions have come in from across the nation.
Might I suggest that people identify the paper and the city from which it comes? That way we would avoid duplication and would have an idea of where the worst cases are.
Great idea..thanks!

The AJC online doesn't have it posted yet. They're still stuck on "Bush Returns to Tax Cuts (for the wealthy)".

Boy if "Bush Targets Medicare" is your best example of media bias, then we have won. There is nothing inaccurate in that statement. You are just making your own fearful inference about what it means.

if "Bush Targets Medicare" is your best example of media biasDid I ever say this was my best example? I do think that "Bush Targets Medicare" screaming across the top of the paper is pretty biased. It's the worst one yet posted on this topic.
And, we are winning this war slowly but surely, but the fight is by no means over. I'll get back to my paranoid delusional reality now, if you don't mind...

You are just making your own fearful inference about what it means. It's not Rob's 'fearful inference' that makes it a left-leaning headline, and therefore inaccurate and harmful. It's the years upon years of leftist accusations that Republicans want to hurt old people and children, and that they/we are heartless.
The logical inference from the headline is that Bush is about to attack Medicare, and therefore hurt the people who need it.
IMO, it's bad, albeit not unusual.

The Ventura County Star (Southern Calif) has these headlines: "Bush to unveil plan that may reduce taxes"with the subhead "President says proposal not weighted toward well to do." The second headline is "Executive Secrecy garners bipartisan opposition to Bush." (by Adam Clymer) A letter to the editor is prefaced by the title "Bush a threat to the world".

In the last three weeks, the president has told his advisers and congressional leaders that he wants to promote competition in Medicare Sounds good to me. Competition brings a lower price, less government fraud and waste, and a better product.
Next, move on to school choice.
If we've ever had a chance to create a better America, it's now. Go for it!

White House to Propose Medicare ChangesThat seemed legit to me because that is exactly what Pres Bush plans to do!
To: JDGreen123; RobFromGa
The closest the Knoxville News-Sentinel came was "Bush: Plan will focus on jobs, not the rich" With the subheadline of "Economic stimulus to be unveiled next week"
Of course anyone with a job is rich acording to the Rats.
