It will do so, advocates said, by limiting the sale of handguns to those with an integrated locking system that can limit the use of the weapon to people who hold the key or know the combination. What a bunch of maroons... Why do they pass an unenforceable law?

"How do you balance saving the life of a child against the prospects that sales might decrease somewhat?" asked Sen. Brian E. Frosh (D-Montgomery), one of the chief sponsors of the measure. "To me, when you look at the balance, it comes out heavily on the side of saving lives."
Triple axel heave alert. "Blue America" is going to really take it in the chops in '04. Go, Liberals!

"This will save lives," said Matt Fenton, president of Marylanders Against Handgun Abuse Inc. "It's the way of the future."Another victory for the Cult of Victimhood.

Lillian Pubillones Nolan, the Montgomery County chapter director of the Million Mom March, said ..."If this means saving lives, I think responsible gun owners should see it as a minor inconvenience."It probably won't seem like a minor inconvenience when they are struggling against fear and adrenaline to get the lock off of their gun while some thug is threatening their family with his unlocked gun.

Does anyone but Taurus have these integrated locks?

All gun-owners from other states should boycott manufacturers of these weapons. It may discourage outfits like Smith and Wesson, who have a history of pandering to political entities which concoct nonesensical laws like this,
Ditto for whatever firm puts a "smart gun" on the market.

Lillian Pubillones Nolan, the Montgomery County chapter director of the Million Mom March, said ..."If this means saving lives, I think responsible gun owners should see it as a minor inconvenience."I strongly oppose the continued existance of busybodies with too much time on their hands who compose sentences including the words "I think [insert group of choice] should see it [as I do]."

Looks like everyone will be buying Springfield 1911-A1s..

The law, of course, doesn't go into effect until some Maryland Mogul certifies the technology to be reliable and "safe".
Buy the way, how long do you suppose the batteries will last?

This is truly disgusting. Just goes to prove...be CAREFUL who you vote for. Once they're in, they've got you by the "short hairs."
