It should be crystal clear that President Bush will NOT pull a Neville Chamberlain and "mess up" by failing to act. All the other ways of "messing up" a war that you refer to, DO involve unnecessary deaths of American servicemen. And even your first option of "do nothing" could wind up with hundreds of thousands of American civilians dead.

The short of it is, Ratner blurted out the truth of what she thought and means, on live TV. No one can either spin that or make it go away, now.

The latter consideration, the error of doing nothing, is why I expect a direct confrontation with North Korea as a double feature. As soon as Hussein is dead and gone in Iraq, and his thugs have been replaced with a "peaceful" government under our supervision, I expect American attention, personnel and equipment to go East, rather than come home, in order to confront North Korea.

The first step in the ending of the Korean War (which, by the way, has never legally ended, it is only a "truce"), will be an air attack on the NK nuclear facilities. Remember the Israeli attack on a nuclear facility outside Baghdad almost twenty years ago? I expect the same on 2003 in NK.

Oh yes I agree with you here Billybob,

I was watching that segment and this was clearly a severe freudean slip that she tried to cover by being overt about it. She seems to be a victim of her own propoganda. She is unable to seriously consider any other recourse than to hope for and subvert the systems toward (consciously or unwittingly) the deaths of thousands of Americans.

This kind of hunger for ABSOLUTE power is precisely the kind of thing that needs to be trumpeted out to the media outlets and demonstrated in the town squares. It is a signature of the democrat campaigns and smells like they are being pressured by special interest groups to win at any cost, even the lives of american soldiers. This win at any cost attitude is the same shameless arrogance that made a deal with Bush 41 to raise taxes, then stabbed him in the back for breaking his no new taxes pledge, followed by dancing on his political grave to the tune of 'It's the economy stupid'.

I could go on but in the interest of brevety will just say that firing this woman might not be the answer, we should keep her in our employ and parade the villified remains of her destroyed reputation in the streets at the end of a stick until she resigns in shame and ignomy.

ps: Isnt that a Live Nuclear Plant now?

Congressman - we were at a neighborhood gathering New Years Day where a retired Navy officer said that there was a peaceful way to end the N.Korean situation. He said all that needed to be done was to put 25,000 Japanese in military gear and stretch them across the North-South Korean border and both countries would shut up and behave themselves. He claims the Koreans - north and south - are petrified of the Japanese because of what they did to Koreans in years past. I don't know my history well enough, but he was adamant that this would work. Do you have any background knowledge of this?
