Didn't think you'd want to miss this little tidbit.

It has been apparent since Gephardt stepped down as RAT leader in the House that he would throw his hat in...and the indications from the rumor mill here in SD are that Daschle very well may too.
The Dems remember a hard lesson from '92. The conventional 'wisdom' circulating then was that GHWB was unbeatable after the Gulf War went so well...so several of their big guns begged off...opening the door for Bubba. So very few are thinking along those lines now...they think the RAT nomination is worth something.

I totally agree with you! She knows she will lose in 04 - however, this move will set her up as an absolute for 08.

It is becoming more likely that Janklow will run for the Senate. A primary contest between him and Thune would be a close run thing, were that to develop.

The scumbags are going to pile in as many primary candidates as they can, create as much intra-party division and rancor as possible, and end up a gnarled mess with no hope of capturing the White House until....until....UNTIL..... .....somebody rides in to rescue the Party!
I hope you are wrong. It has been a very long time since there was a deadlocked convention, but if there was, of course they would turn to Gore, who would then be is a strong position. Why? Because campaigning, even primary campaigning, makes candidates look bad. Certainly, campaigning makes Al Gore look bad, so if he could get nominated without it, it would be bad for us.
Good news: Senators make weak presidential candidates, and all in all it sure looks like the Democrats are going to nominate one.

"Bush'd have to hold back from referring to him as "li'l feller." I'd hate for him to suppress that urge. It could be very effective. One of these times the Rats are going to make such complete asses of themselves with their whining that even the stupidest of their constituents will be unable to ignore them, and you know that would set them to whining.
