Reports: Islamist Militants May Seek To Unite, Strike in Europe 18 October 2002

Summary

Islamist militants from scores of countries reportedly convened recently
in Bosnia, agreeing to set aside differences and to present a united
front in the face of "American-Zionist aggression." Although it is not
known whether al Qaeda members were present, such a convention would
suggest that militants are feeling the heat from the U.S. anti-terrorism
war and are seeking to turn the tide by staging coordinated attacks against the West.

Analysis

Russian and Yugoslav intelligence sources claim that more than 150
Islamic radicals from more than 50 countries held a secret congress in
Travnik, Bosnia and Herzegovina, on Oct. 8. Strana.ru, a pro-government
Russian media source, issued a similar report, citing "well-informed
diplomatic sources."

According to these sources, the Islamists declared jihad on the
"European race" -- meaning both Americans and Europeans -- because it
has become "the willing slaves of Jews and Israel." Participants also
agreed to put aside any conflicts within the Muslim world in order to
unite all Islamic forces as soon as possible for "a return strike" in
response to "American-Zionist aggression," the sources say. The militants allegedly
declared that all means, both legal and illegal, should be used for that purpose.

Although it is unknown whether al Qaeda members were present at the
reported meeting, its occurrence would suggest Islamic militants are
feeling the heat from the U.S. anti-terrorism war and are trying to turn
the tide by staging coordinated attacks. A united front against the
United States and its perceived domination in the Muslim world is
something Osama bin Laden and al Qaeda have been calling for since the
beginning of their struggle against the United States.

A nice get together by some jihadists...
Couldn't bono and U2 throw a nice beneficiary concert for them?
I know, they can play in Sarajevo or why not in Travnik?

Mebbe 150 could fold the French army but I think even the Italians could handle 150 PO'ed Islamists.

Stratfor may seek to unite all oversimplifications into a single simplistic worldview and attack our sensibilities in Europe and elsewhere. Is Stratfor run by PoliSci freshmen or what?

Well, I think we heard several weeks ago that they were planning to hold a conclave in Bosnia. It's a mystery to me why NATO is still helping the Bosnian Muslims. It's not as if we can expect gratitude from these people.

Arabs tend to go for the softer targets. So it wouldn't be terribly surprising if they concentrated on Europe, where they have much greater numbers and support for their terrorists than they do in America.

As posted earlier today on another thread...

*********

You will not have to wait five years for Kosovo, Macedonia, and Bosnia to become the biggest threats for the West. Two thousand three should see an extensive increase in attacks from Banja Luka to Sarajevo, from Prishtina to Tetovo -- as the Western failure in the Balkans is magnified by US success in Iraq. The saving grace for America is that the war with Iraq and increased tensions around the globe permit an excellent opportunity for the US to withdraw from the losing Balkan proposition. You are correct that al-Qaeda is rearming in the Balkans. What you do not understand and what the Western media seems to ignore is that the vast majority of the opposition weapons purchases in the Balkans are funded through countless American "infrastructure" tax dollars that disappear into the black hole of Bosnia.

The recent purchase by the Hippo Bank of Krystal Banka for 1DM has resulted in Republika Srpska prime minister Mladen Ivanic effectively transferring 25 million USD in Wood Agency Credit Lines (WACL) funds and some 100 million USD real property to the Bosnian Serb SDS party. These funds have then been further laundered through Europe in conjunction with Islamic terrorist organisations and ultimately provide capital infrastructure for ex-Soviet and Yugoslav small arms, MANPADS, and high tech communications gear to be consigned to the enemies of the US and Britain.

Britain's Paddy Ashdown, as Bosnia OHR head, has the unilateral authority to block this transaction and the de facto transfer of the WACL manufacturing facilities but has failed to exercise his due responsibility. The two tonnes of weapons (Kalishnikovs, ammunition, grenades, Strela SAMs, Semtex, etc) smuggled into Britain in September and October were financed in part from Cyprus through monies that transited Banja Luka -- Switzerland -- Belgrade.

The US has egg on their face now in the Republika Srpska as Ivanic has overtly allied in a coalition with the SDS despite years of the State Department proclaiming "he is a good guy," "he is under pressure," "we control him." Current US Ambassador to Bosnia Bond receiving extensive criticism from the administration during his holiday travels.

His career will be wrecked on the Bosnian shoals. The president should ask him to step down immediately.

On December 24 Ivanic moved to illegally void the privatisation tender offers for these WACL mills in conjuction with bought and paid for local court officials. Should these tenders be voided, not only will several years of international community "transparency" be exposed as a sham -- but 25 million USD in hard money will be forever funnelled into the coffers of Islamic fighters.

The Balkans are swarming now with well armed fighters prepping to attack under the twin swords of Albanian nationalism and Islamic fundamentalism. The US soon to enjoy ultimate success versus Iraq but is stumbling badly in the less clearly defined dark regions where Islamic entente forces are now ready to launch their counter-offensive. Already several weeks have been wasted in Bosnia in failing to upgrade security for the "collateral opposition damage" that will result from the attack on Iraq.

US ambassador to Bosnia Bond should be the subject of an immediate Congressional investigation when the new congress convenes next month -- president Bush must replace him with a stronger figure more versed in fighting international terrorism. Paddy Ashdown should start doing his job or prepare to explain to Tony Blair and all of Fleet Street how and why the coming attacks on British subjects were funded from Bosnia on his watch.

The modern day Bismarck -- George W Bush -- needs to get the US out of the Balkans and cut American foreign policy losses. The European Union will have plenty of opportunity to fight a wide variety of opponents in Europe during this decade -- best the US honourably exfiltrate Bosnia under the cover of World War III.

The forces of freedom on the move. Europe trembles.

America should let the moose limbs have that socialist cesspool. Then, after they've butchered all the men -- and circumcised all the women -- we'll have a damned good excuse to nuke both it and the middle east.

Iraq+Korea = WW III

I assume that any action in Korea will require every spare US servicemen.

Question: If the Islamofascists do pull off an attack in Europe, will that harden the Euroweenie spines, or just make them cave in further?

I doubt attacks - doctrines of political correctness will serve them well in Europe, as long as the Euros are suitably distracted in their many and varied entertainments.

Well, To begin with I strongly doubt that the cohesion among the Euro security apparatus is apprehensive enough.
But I guess we'll have to see about that too.

Things would have been much easier if the so called "immigration problem" was contained outside of Europe.

"Islamist Militants May Seek To Unite, Strike in... (fill in the blank)..."

GRRRRRRRR...I'm so tired of hearing this sh!t that I could barf...

If the islamist dirt dobber ragheads are going to strike....I wish they would DO IT!

God help me......but I want the next "attack" to be so hurrendous that even the most rabid, radical liberal/communist can't stand it (I hit my limit on 9-11). Maybe then we can finally nuke Baghdad, Rihad, Pong-yang, Amman, Terhan,Tripoli, Ciro, Mecca, Medina and any other Islamic rat hole dirt town that I forgot (I know ying-yang ain't islamic, but it is a rat hole).....and finally rid the World of these vermin.....

Maybe we could live in peace for 50 or 60 years...until some other group of human scum decides to take over the World.

Interesting get together of terrorists. I can't keep out of my head the image of the first scene of one of Leslie Nielson's "Naked Gun" movies: a meeting attended by Khomeini, Idi Amin, Kaddafi, Arafat, Gorby, and others!
