John 1

<14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, full of grace and truth; we have beheld His glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father.
16 And from his fullness have we all received, grace upon grace.
17 For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for sending Jesus Christ to us and for the grace that only You can provide. Thank You that we are children of the Living God and that You have blessed us with this beautiful creation. Even though winter is upon us, we see glimpses of Your glory in the clear night skies, in the frosted grass and in the gentle snowfall. We are grateful for eyes that can see the beauty in all that You have made. We are thankful for the opportunity to live in America, Father, and the freedom to worship You as we please.

We gather here today to lift up our President and to seek Your finest blessings for him. We ask that You would bless him with the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and of might, the spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord. Please grant him the words and the communication skills he needs to convey his agenda to the American people. Father, defend this man and cause him to seek Your truth. Defend him from those who seek his ruin, his failure, and who place their own political gain above what is good for America. Please keep our President’s heart close to You, Lord, and let his steps be secure. He is Your child, and he seeks to be Your servant. Make straight the path before him, and let him never wander from You, the source of his strength. Please help his wife, Laura, to continue to be a beautiful blessing to him.

Father, we ask that You would guide Senator Frist and Congressman Hastert as they lead the legislative bodies of this nation. We commit to You the vacancies in our federal courts and pray that You would fill them with godly men who will seek justice according to the Constitution and the laws of this nation.

Please call the hearts of Americans across this nation to pray for their country. Let the people lift up America each day and commit to praying to you always for your will to be done in our nation. May your Holy Spirit descend upon us and light a fire of love for our Savior, Jesus Christ, in whose name we pray, Amen.

Agreeing with you in prayer, Faith.

I also lift up to the Lord the situation in Iraq and North Korea, and ask God to protect those who defend our freedom.

In Jesus' Name,
Amen.

Ecclesiastes 3

A Time for Everything

1
There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under heaven:
2 a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
3 a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
4 a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain,
6 a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
7 a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
8 a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.

Heavenly Father, I praise You for You are worthy of all honor and glory and dominion. I worship You who loves us so much. I love You above all there is. Without You where would we be.

Father, I pray for the president tonite that You will be his guide and direct him along straight paths as our leader. Give him the mind of Christ, in Jesus name, amen.

Bless the Lord, Oh! My Soul.

May God lead and direct every step our President and his staff take in this coming year. There is so much to be accomplished and with God's help and direction it will be to His glory.

Amen and amen.
