Most of the socialist Euro-states will soon be too broke to even send someone to Coventry, let alone Mars.

The only piece of information in this article worth thinking about has nothing to do with the Europeans, who obviously have no chance of being space pioneers, or any other kind of pioneers, mired as they are in their socialist experimentations.
What's interesting here is the mention of robot colonies paving the way for human habitation. That's the way it's going to happen and that's what we should be concentrating on right now. Building better space robots and getting more of them up there in operation. We could have a robot city on Mars for a hundredth of the cost of sending a single human team.

This Mars thing is looking more and more like the fusion thing.

"Europe's plans for human exploration...2025, the technology will exist to send humans to Mars..."
I'm trying to control my laughter. How is Europe going to fund this? From the IMF? The World Bank? And leave the U.S. out of it,but go ther on 'our' tax dollars? Sure. I wonder how they'll deal with what ended up as a 4 month
planet-wide sandstorm from June to September 2001,Hmmm?That question still requires an answer.
