I don't write vanities, not normally not ever, but there's a first for everything. Here's a list of questions I want answered and most Americans should too.
- Why hasn't the upcoming Iraqi war been publically debated?
- Why hasn't Congress done it's job on the war?
- What are the actual costs going to be to the taxpayers of this war, and I don't been some ball park figures but detailed cost estimates? Best/worst case scenarios?
- Where is the money coming from?
- How much largeness will the US oil companies and defense industries receive from this war?
- What happens if the Iraqi oil fields are destroyed and what will be the cost of reopenning them?
- What will be the cost of rebuilding Iraq and what is/if there is the plan for this?
- What exact form of government will replace Iraqi Saddam/Batha rule?
- Why is the US negotiating with Iranian mullahs for the government, members of the very organization it opposes in Iran?
- Why is the US negotiating with exiled Iraqi generals who have human rights records worse then Saddam, to include "The Chemist"?
- What happens if Kurdistan declares independence...will this be supported?
- What happens if Turkey invades Kurdistan and begins a whole sale slaughter?
- What happens if Iran invades southern Iraq?
- Since Saddam is such a mad dog and has had chemical weapons for over twenty years, why hasn't he launched them on Israel?
- How will taking out Saddam, a socialist, make the US safer from Islamic terrorists financed by Saudi Arabia and various other emerites?
- Why have the Saudies been allowed to amass WMD and over 100 missiles?
- What is the end state in Afghanistan?
- What happens if Taliban launches offensives during Iraqi war? Where will reinforcements come from since all three participating divisions will also be in Iraq?
- How much is the US willing to spend to rebuild Afghanistan?
- What happens if Pakistan goes rouge and has nukes?
- Why have oil prices been allowed to climb up to the highest point in 2 years and retail had its worst season in 30 years.
- Why are foreign software engineers still being hired and imported at autrocious rates while domestic workers sit in unemployement?
- Why are Mexicans still being supported as illegals in the US?
- Why is the federal government still pushing for billingual services to these illegals?
- Why was NATO enlargement not even debated seriously, when this causes the US to willingly go to nuclear war for countries such as Romania. When this will cost the tax payer twice as much as last time, to the tune of $65 billion dollars, to subsidize the US military industry in selling systems to poor countries.
- Why are US troops still in the Balkins and the US is still backing the KLA?
- Why is the US still giving money to Arafat?
- Why is the US still spending globs of money, around $10 billion/year, defending Saudi Arabia when it refuses to cooperate with the US?
- Why are anti Chavez, pro democracy demonstrators not receiving any help?
- Why is the Zimbabwean anti Communist opposition not receiving any help?
- Why did the Rumsfield inquiry into waste, fraud and abuse in the US military and National Guard come to such a sudden halt?
- Why is air safety in US airports just as much of a joke still as it was before?
Just a few questions that no one is seeming to ask since it's a Republican run show and not democRats.

WOW - Most of you questions are basic to any good Conservative I doubt you are here as a friend. You have to be a DU plant?
If you are not a Rat Plant I suggest you take each question and do a FR search and take about 2 hours reading up on each question.
PS: I started to answer your questions but realized they were bogus when you asked:
What happens if Pakistan goes rouge and has nukes?
To: Stavka2
And finally,
33. Does Stavka2 support US led regime change in Iraq, pursuant to UN Resolution 1441?
34. Who did Stavka2 vote for, in 2000 and 2002 US federal elections?
To: Crossbow Eel
What happens if Pakistan goes rouge and has nukes? You get a prostitute with the ability to place maximum ordnance on target...
Or did Stavka2 mean Rogue?
Meega, Nala Kweesta!
To: Crossbow Eel
Exactly why is this a bogus question? Maybe you missed the elections in Pakistan where over half the country voted for the Taliban style hardliners and the country is an assassins bullet away from revolution. Or are they to painful to answer?

No, actually I support US led regime change in Saudi Arabia and other Islamic strong holds instead of defending them with US men and dollars. And I voted Bush only because there wasn't a better Republican candidate around.
I love these ad homuem (?sp) attacks that get launched the moment some one comes out and starts asking the tough questions, nothing like shutting up any real debate and totting the party line, like mindless little bots. Shoot away, it won't make these problems go away or get answered by doing only what your betters tell you.

Did you get these questions from Sean Penn or Barbara Streisand?
The first 7 questions are assumptions on your part and not worthy of an answer. The rest are "What if's" and have a bias towards the negative.
The past 50 years have seen the fall of almost all the oppressive regimes and the remaining tyrants will soon fall. All we are seeing and hearing is the cries of these tyrants as they assume their rightful places in the ash heap of history.
I'm not sure where your from Stavka, But we Americans believe in Freedom and we will fight for it and we have fought and shed more blood for the freedom of people we have never met, Then we have for ourselves. Americans are not a part of a nationality, We are part of a dream and a belief in freedom.
Freedom is like a fever,
Catch it

Thank you for the ideology lesson. But here's a correction, the US has also supported autocratic regimes the world over, to include the Regime of the Colonels in Greece, Turks in the annexation of Cyprus and the slaughter of Kurds. The KLA, the Croat facists, the Bosnian Islamics, Egypt's military rule, Pakistan's military rule, Indonesia's autocracy, various dictators in S. America and Africa. But I'm not going to get in a pissing contest with you on this, I'm going to shoot holes in what you first said.
So, my first 7 questions, dealing with a fair conversation on the war are wrong? Is it wrong to ask why there is not public debate on an endevour that will send US lives off to be lost and US treasure to be spent? That's unpatriotic...hell, I'm sure you had no problem with Klintoon's little war escapades too, right? Oh, that was different, different party. Is it wrong to ask how much this is going to cost the taxpayer? To have an open accountability with the voters? Or should everything be done in secret...since you seem to think that's the way of free republics. Is it wrong to ask what contingency plans are made? Or how much will be spent on Iraq? Must be so wrong to think for one's self instead of being told what to put in your brain. How are you any different from the equally brainwashed democrats?
The last 50 years have also seen the rise of some of the most oppressive regimes, most of whom, except for in Europe, are still very much in power and new ones have risen up...must be nice to have your head buried in the sand.
Now do yourself a flavor and come up with some answers to these questions and see where it leads you.

Your long list of questions is exactly why I hired George W. Bush and his team to run the country. I expect THEM to come up with the right answers.

* Why are US troops still in the Balkins and the US is still backing the KLA? * Why is the US still giving money to Arafat? * Why is the US still spending globs of money, around $10 billion/year, defending Saudi Arabia when it refuses to cooperate with the US? You are right. We can think about it now, or start thinking when it is too late. To add to that painful list, above, I would ask about our exact dealings with the Iraqi opposition. The greatest set of illassorted ratbags, windbags, bankrupts (literally in some cases) and fundamentalists I have ever seen.
If anyone put in a post, saying I think we should send money to support war criminals and Islamic fundamentalists in the Middle East - there would be an uproar. But that is what we are already doing. No lesson has been learnt by the immoral policy of supporting Sadaam (that is why they had to pull 8,000 pages out of the dossier. They were about the US sending weapons, including anthrax).

Ssshhh, what are you doing, don't you know you'll be getting flamed just like me for asking the very questions that most want just to go away and not worry about? Much better not to ask and just accept, our better know better after all. /sarcasm

The well thought out responses to the questions shows the logic and thinking behind the wish to invade Iraq. If you don't agree with the message, attack the messenger. Where are the intelligent replies to Straka's questions? It seems like most are attacks instead of answers. I like answers. That is the only way to form an opinion. The hyperbole without reason just increases the confusion of the attacker. It seems there are few valid arguments that the warhawks can mount in the debate.

Mine was not an attack. I truly wanted to know your position.
So I requested it, in a concise and short list of questions.
I cannot answer all of your questions. The real world is complex. Let me suggest one answer: Damage repair costs to Iraqi oilfields, will be offset against revenues from oil sales. Just a logical guess.
I would surmise that during the Thirty Years War, many questions arose.
I would further surmise, that before, during and after WWII, NOBODY had all the answers. Leaders (on both sides) did what they believed was best, under the extant circumstances.
Here are a few big questions to ponder:
Considering Islam may be hellbent on a long term quest for violent expansion, what course of action is most wise for the US to follow?
How can the civilized nations cause the Islamic citizenry, to turn away from their violence and expansionist aims?
With 15 of 19 WTC/Pentagon homicide perps originating from Saudi Arabia, would the US have been justified, to conquer Saudi Arabia, and make it a US territory, under the "spoils to the victor" doctrine of warfare?
Which muslim nation would serve as the best "example" to be destroyed, to show the world the folly of allowing it's citizens to attack America?
In WWII Germany and Japan were decisively defeated. In the aftermath, their citizens DID NOT try to continue the war, by terrorism. Can defeated muslims be expected to join a civilized, peaceful world community?
Of an estimated population of 1.2 billion muslims worldwide, how many would have to die, for the living to "fall into line" like the Germans and Japanese did?
To: Stavka2
Why in hell do you want answers to your questions, you seem to have all the answers.
You assume there hasn't been a debate over how to deal with Iraq.
You assume Congress hasn't done it's job
You assume there hasn't been an estimate on the cost of our options in dealing with Iraq
You assume there will be opportunistic profiteering after Saddam falls
You then base the rest of your questions on hypothetical situations
AND YOU HAVE THE NERVE TO SAY I HAVE MY HEAD BURIED IN THE SAND

Well, since we are on the Eve of War, why hasn't any of this been discussed? I'm no democrat or liberal and my past statements and bookmarks will prove that, even if the shallow individuals that skim around here will make these stupid assertions, but the hypocracy of the conservatives is staggering. Everything the dissected about Klintoon, and rightly so, they are ignoring about Bush. Why? Because he is a republican (note, never did he call himself a real conservative and the track record shows). All presidents, regardless of politics, should have their actions dissected, no one should get a free ride.

Whether or not I think I know the answers is beside the point, it is the duty of the government to provide the voters and paying public with answers to questions that it is avoiding giving. Has Congress voted on fund allications and a declaration of war or been asked to consider a declaration on war? Oh, I know there have been cost estimates in the closed circles, but why haven't they made them actually public to the people who will have to do the paying? As for opportunistic profiteering, sure, this war will be the exception to all other wars, yup, all new this time, yup. If you had read through the rest of the questions, which I doubt you did, half have nothing to do with Iraq, obviously you didn't.
And I have plenty of nerve, that's why I'm asking them, something most others don't have the nerve to do.
