I wouldn't say we "own" any of the branches of gov't, especially the judiciary. Clinton appointed a bunch of clowns during his 8 Long years in power. We have one thin dime's advantage elsewhere.
I don't think your chart really reflects Frist completely. Think what a McCain chart would look like. Some of these guys should be addressed as "Senator Gumby" they're so dang flexible.

60 days is long enough since he has said he wanted it banned for at least 5 years now.

The Supremes are 5-4 conservative. They are something like 7-2 republican.
If there are bad votes out there don't you think SOMEONE would be SCREAMING ABOUT THEM RIGHT NOW?
Now, it's a unique opportunity. We should unify around GW Bush and his new Senate majority leader, Bill Frist.
(BTW, I LIKE MY THREAD BETTER. LOL!!)

Roll Call's Ed Henry, on MSNBC, just said that he doubts G.W. will bring back the Appeals Court nomination of Judge Charles Pickering. Henry predicted G.W. will try to avoid controversy. So have the Democrats won by default or what? Why, because of Ed Henry's SPECULATION?

Great point.

Yep. The Senate over the years has evolved the means for Senators of both parties to maximize their ability to appear just about however they desire to appear to the electorate. Many allied organizations help by giving them maximum cover through creative use of ratings systems.

Trent Lott had a great voting record. Yet everyone ganged up against him because he made dumb statements and sold us out strategically. While voting records matter--of course--that doesn't always tell you everything you need to know. AND, these guys change their "principles" like they change their socks (some of them).

Does that mean we shouldn't unify at this very important time of opportunity.
We've got the chance to change things for the better.

To: Revolting cat!
How's about:
T Lo Blows; Frist First!
;-)
To: Oldeconomybuyer
OK. I will give Sen. Frist a year as SML to prove his leadership ability. I think that's great. He should be given a chance to prove himself. Lott had six years, I believe....

The 50-year-old Frist, a wealthy heart surgeon... The AP just had to throw that in. But when other details may tell alot about a man's character, like...
Frist, who participated in the call from his Nashville, Tenn., office, is considered an authority on health issues in the Senate. He still keeps his starched white lab coat in the trunk of his car, makes monthly visits to hospitals and clinics and goes on occasional overseas medical missions.
The "overseas" medical missions are trips to Africa to perform FREE surgeries. I wonder why the AP didn't disclose that little tid bit. Would it appear that maybe Hillary was wrong about those racist republicans?

Good eye. The media puts out the news with their own slant, no doubt. I'm hoping he'll be a good SML, and hope others here on FR will do the same. He's going in with half-hearted support, unfortunately. He'll have to prove himself to the 'RATS and to the naysayers within the GOP/Conservatives as well.
To: TLBSHOW
Why, no, Trent! ;^)
