What do they call a country that thinks Iraq and Afghanistan are utilizing all our offensive/defensive capabilities?
Suddenly irrelevant.
If it weren't for the fact that Seoul is 40 miles from the border with N. Korea, we'd have popped a cruise missile on all of their facilities by now.
They didn't. 60 Minutes did a story on it -- so you know it must be true.
Anyway, it's still there and the a$$holes have it decked out for a tourist attraction. I'm not kidding. Those Commie a$$holes are charging moola to tour OUR DAMN ship.
Come home America before it is too late - you have a fortress to build, an economy that needs repair, and generations of youth that need not be wasted in century long wars if Constitutional America is to survive. Play no favorites and we will have no enemies.
Our troops... what's left, would be hostages.
These ain't no filthy arabs. They fight and fight hard!
They are well fed and well trained.
Iraq is a foregone conclusion. N. Korea and her big brother, China... are the real problem.
Rumsfeld would have to mobilize every American to 50 to stop them. No joke.
We and South Korea have been working for decades on defenses and strategies to channel the NK invasion force into corridors, within which the NK armies can be obliterated. We're better equipped to obliterate them than we've ever been.
In the event of collapse and self-immolation, we need to contain them for a while, but I think we've already got Patriots enough to defend SK from a North Korean SCUD attack. So, while we probably won't stop them all, and while Seoul may well get nuked, NK won't take nearly as many with them as they'd like.
The wild card is, once again, China. In the event of a NK dust-up they will probably attack Taiwan -- and Taiwan will probably nuke them for their troubles.
Still, I doubt they'd do much of anything: China can't afford to lose its trade profits, and we can afford to do without Chinese goods.
Some libbers thru the years have alleged the Pueblo wasn't armed so they didn't have a chance to fight. Not true. It's not a destroyer or an aircraft carrier but, according to what my cousin told me in the 80's, they had deck guns and weapons and side-arms. And they were more than willing to fight back. But they were over-ruled by distant and faceless political cowards. They wasted precious minutes and hours destroying DUTY ROSTERS and let the Commies have the most sensitive information and equipment.
Again, I'm not kidding. They burned or shredded or destroyed in some manner piles and piles of personnel records because they were easily-accessible -- while the officers in charge pretty much ignored the suggestions of the experienced enlisted folks who knew what was important and where it was.
They were in the ocean for God's sake!! They could've just started throwing spy equipment over the damn side . . . at least making the Commies get wet before they stole our secrets. One particular officer was freaking out and yelling and scrambling around like an Ethiopian dog after a bone so . . . they destroyed f'ing duty rosters.
A sad commentary. The crew was ill-trained and poorly led and their civilian leaders had play-doh spines.
He felt guilty for the rest of his life. And it still pi$$es me off.
