There is a picture you posted in this thread that took my breath away. It wasn't the spectacular live fire night exercises in Kuwait pics that are so eloquent and startling. Nor the pics of the inspectors ( ah, the inspections-like so much folly to moi!). Nope. Nor the widows, not the welcome shelters for Kurds (tho I thought the satellite dish by the ramshackle huts was quite a paradox) nor even the spectacular and beautiful shot of our sun.
It is the fabulous picture of the shepard in Cizre, Turkey (thirty six miles from Iraqi border). The portrait picture of the man, with the brown hood spotted with snowflakes, that knocked me out today. His face, those eyes-what a story.
