Can someone please explain for me what it is that makes folks at this point in time back Palestinian statehood? Yasser Arafat's terrorist tactics have been such a failure that even the Palestinian people call it B.S. Even Arafat claims it has been a dismal failure and is trying to run from the responsiblity as fast as he can. The PLO has been discredited to the point nobody but nobody respects them any more. They have no juice whatsoever. So what do some of our brilliant leaders do? They back statehood. Political reality: There are way more blacks than Jews (esp. Jews that are strong supporters of Israel). To be a viable candidate on the DEM ticket, you have to have the black vote period. You don't get the black vote unless you support Palestinian statehood.
