How many blacks will be in the Republican congress after J.C. Watts leaves? That doesn't mean that Republicans are racists. It is really a reflection on the fact that blacks are to a very large extent, not conservatives. The better measure of a parties racist tendencies, is look at the appointed positions where they have direct control over who gets what.

Clinton's Secretary of Defense with the Black wife was... a Republican. And he's still no Donald Rumsfeld.

"And he's still no Donald Rumsfeld." Good Lord no....

I almost missed this thread due to holiday celebrations. Great job to you MM! And Ligeia has named another fabulous leader in this administration....who happens to be black. I've been in her presence (at two separate meeting venues) and she is warm, intelligent, and full of grace.
This prez knows well how to surround himself with capable people. The last prez only knew how to dole out political jobs for political favors to political hacks. What he got was incompetents who were there for themselves....not the nation.
BUMP!

Condy Rice is such a doll!
She has the brains to go with it too.
This administration has done more for promoting Blacks into prominent powerful positions than any in our history - IMHO.

Black conservative pingIf you want on (or off) of my black conservative ping list, please let me know via FREEPmail. (And no, you don't have to be black to be on the list!)
Extra warning: this is a high-volume ping list.

"Please include Ron Brown in this list. Use the photo with the bullet hole in his head." You might also include the 100-plus list of close Clinton associates and appointees who are no longer around to talk about it.
To: Miss Marple
Excellent!
Looks like they want to allocate the blacks back to the plantations!
Can we thank Nancy Pelosi for all these? Or who can we thank (other than the dims in general)?

This was posted before I read that story.
kayak has the pictures on another thread, so perhaps she will bring them here to add to the discussion.

Democrats reward blacks by creating de facto enslavement thru labyrinthian bureacracies which employ the incompetent at outsized wage rates - but NEVER by putting blacks in the ranks of The Elite. Their policies toward race are matched by their tax policies - making achievement and retention of wealth all but impossible and thus slamming the door shut on new membership in the Elite Club. This is why the really rich are Dems. They don't want any riff-raff to join their club.

Don't fret, it's easy to forget Rummy was a Republican.

There is a interesting story in the Dec 9th 1999 edition of the USAtoday that every Freeper and Conservative needs to have when race is brought up called "The Missing Voices."

If you're Black in Texas, to be elected to a statewide office you must run as a Republican.
Republicans 3; Democrats 0.
