The notion of a U.S. senator singing the praises of Osama bin Laden is too far-fetched to take seriously, right?

Wrong.

Here's the Columbian of Vancouver, Wash., describing a speech by Sen. Patty Murray (D., Wash.) to a group of southern Washington state high-school students:

Murray concluded the session by challenging the students to consider alternatives to war.

"We've got to ask, why is this man (Osama bin Laden) so popular around the world?," said Murray, who faces re-election in 2004. "Why are people so supportive of him in many countries . . . that are riddled with poverty?

"He's been out in these countries for decades, building schools, building roads, building infrastructure, building day care facilities, building health care facilities, and the people are extremely grateful. We haven't done that.

"How would they look at us today if we had been there helping them with some of that rather than just being the people who are going to bomb in Iraq and go to Afghanistan?"

Actually, it's true that bin Laden financed some road construction in Sudan, back when that was the headquarters of his terror network, but Murray must have a screw loose if she thinks al Qaeda has been building "day care facilities." What, to cater to all the fundamentalist Muslim families in which the husband and all four wives have to work?

Murray, by the way, was until recently a member of the Democratic Senate leadership. She served as chairman of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee in the 107th Congress.

Why? It’s called propaganda, the same crap your spouting right now. It’s the Madrasa schools (which indoctrinate the Muslim youth with hate for the West) that Osama builds that you so admire him for. They hate us for supporting Israel the only Democracy in the Middle East and the home of a race their Holy Book tells them to hate and fear. They hate us because their culture is about subduing personal freedom and the subjugation of women, while ours is about maximum personal freedom and the equality of women.

This is a war of culture, ideas and ideals. We can’t make these people love us because they hate us not because of anything we have done but because of who we are.

This lady’s speech is so AlGore, if the facts don’t support your ideas make some up that do.

Sorry you don't catch them on occasion ... and I would be hard pressed to find a more fundamentally flawed policy of our nation that degenerates our goodness more than abortion on demand, sanctioning the serial killing of the most innocent. What I offered in the earlier post was intended to strengthen the notion that the woman has a dead heart, as do many despotic democrats and liberal societal engineers. Her inference that Osama has been doing social services needs to be carried to the logical adjunct: the schools are destined as his means to educate the young in hate and Islamofacism, with only a whif of education in the three R's. In the closed, patriarchical society of Osama's 'wet dreams', the schools in Afghanistan weren't even open to females and the hospitals and clinics served a dual purpose for him as medical aid for his 'warrior murderers of Islamism' in the event of war with the Soviets/Russians or the U.S. A dead heart like Murray's sees only the glossy surface of these 'institutions', never the pernicious intent for them.

I shouldn't have let loose on you. The few encounters I've had with your replies always revolved around your rather aggressive defense of the little ones. Here in CA they've used the issue to devastate and demonize conservatives and so, although it's a valid issue, some of us grow weary and a bit irritable. Sorry.

Let's compare Osama's operations to Patty Murray's Democrat Party and see if anything is the same.....

Osama bin Laden uses illegal drug money to purchase much of everything he bought to bribe people in that country. If he couldn't bribe them cheap and get the men/boys to sign up to fight, they were terrorized and murdered from what I have read.

The Democrat party couldn't exist without buying off the vote by re-directing tax dollars to create go-nowhere programs and hand-outs to buy power and votes just as Osama buys his power an lives.
Democrats also are a big hate group that attempts to divide people for the sake of gaining power by using the race card wrongly and by any other scam possible. In the same way Osama hates the people he bribes and kills them if he can't use them.

one TV commercial showing Baghdad Jim claim Saddam Hussein is more believable than George Bush and showing Murray claim bin Laden buyilt day care and health centers SHOULD be enopugh to embarass the people of Washington into getting serious about not being represented by anti-American idiots.
