SHARPTON CALLS LOTT'S STEPPING DOWN A STRONG VICTORY FOR CIVIL RIGHTS (DRUDGE) nothing follows yet.....
front page Drudge Report
Sorta.
That's what you all needed, right? A virgin FReeper to join in on your ongoing battle? But as a newbie I'm accustomed to getting flamed so fire away. My tush is charrrrr-broiled and weather-proofed. Have at it.
I've been trying to watch the names of posters the past week or so. I "think" I've got a good read on TLB, cynicom, ewing, and smith. Sorry, zing, you ain't cussed me out yet . . . or at least it wasn't so bad that you singed any hairs.
Some of you think the conservatives who wanted Lott to go are spineless cowards who have done irreperable harm to their causes. Others didn't think too highly of Lott in the first place and weren't sad to see him go.
Franklin D. Roosevelt said this . . . A conservative is a man with two perfectly good legs, who has never learned to walk. Not flattering, huh? But I had an old English professor a hundred years ago who had a fetish for researching why people said what they're semi-famous for saying. According to him, Roosevelt said this because he couldn't "peg" conservatives with a single label as he could liberals.
Conservatives confounded the sh*t out of Roosevelt. And that's why we're kicking A$$ and taking names now. We've got the moral-imperative wing of conservatives . . . the "base" as it's defined today . . . and we've got the moderates . . . usually called the "swing votes" . . . all taking cover under the conservative umbrell and they usually agree on the major issues. Some just agree a bit more strenuously than others.
That's why I say both warring parties are right. I'm only sticking my nose in it because I've also see some of you arguing on the same side before . . . and it's starting to get a bit personal. We, newbie FReepers and conservatives and, most importantly, the conservative cause, need all of you. Debate is great, hell that's how idiots like me learn. But trashing a fellow conservative because he calls something light gray that you swear is white as cotton does no one any good.
So flame the damn newbie sticking his nose into your business for awhile. Hell, I'm used to it. Besides, I'm going to lunch and maybe you'll all be tuckered out when I get back.
So now you're the keeper of the Great List of Conservatives? How'd you get that job?
That's simple to explain: DemocRATS don't HAVE principles and values!
From David Schippers book - Sellout
Republican Leaders Punt In the very first meeting Hyde and the House Managers had with Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott to discuss the trials procedure, Lott told Hyde right up front:
Henry, youre not going to dump this garbage on us.
FBI files have nothing to do with it.
Politician Rule #1: Watch your damn mouth when the cameras are on.

It is painfully obvious that liberals tried to call off the dogs and "embrace" Lott after the republicans were making a strong effort to rid Lott before becoming a whipping boy. I wasnt calling TLBSHOW a liberal like he has done to me and many others. I was saying he held that same perceived view of Lott as Carvile and some other liberals who suddenly love Lott and have open arms for him after Lotts apology (bending over on BET)
A conservative is a man with two perfectly good legs, who has never learned to walk.
Looks like we could all use some walking lessons. Thanks for the post!
This foolish self-serving loudmouth fancies himself a potential canidate for president I understand. I'll watch him run, but I am only into doing so to enjoy the specticle of his political demise.
Sharpton makes Jesse Jackass look conservative. He's way too ghetto to ever be accepted in mainstream America as a viable candidate for president, just like James Carville is too much of a redneck cracker for the voters in upstate New York.
