Mullah Omar Urges Jihad Against US War On Iraq

Taliban leader Mullah Mohammad Omar has exhorted Muslims to prepare for Jihad against the United States if it unleashes a military offensive against Iraq. In a statement published in the Pakistani Mashraq newspaper, Mullah Omar stressed it was time for the Islamic nation to stand in the face of world atheism and to attack American interests worldwide.

In his statement, which the paper said was authenticated by close sources to Taliban, Mullah Omar underlined that Muslims must united in Jihad against their enemies and should never accept eternal humiliation. The Taliban leader regretted what he termed as an atheist assault on Islam and Muslims, stressing that his followers were reuniting and planning attacks on foreign troops in Afghanistan.
