You're talking to Ann Coulter, right?
From the article:
Statisticians believe Trent Lott is now on track to break Bill Clinton's single-season record for public apologies. During his recent B.E.T. appearance, Lott said he supported affirmative action, regretted voting against the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, and that he'd give "The Bernie Mac Show" another try.
SNIP
Lott is a fine fellow; he just has some sort of liberal-Tourette's syndrome that makes him spout Democrat ideas at random. A few years ago, Lott practically wanted to give the adulterous Air Force pilot Kelly Flinn a silver star for her service. Remember that?
Up until two weeks ago, conservatives were clamoring for Lott's removal precisely because of his annoying habit of saying dumb things. (Showing their inferior intellect, liberals have only recently figured that out.) Republicans should ask Lott to step down as leader, but only for all the nice things he's said about Teddy Kennedy.
Southern Democrats from Reconstruction to the 1970s were conservative, rather than liberal. The South was a one party region, with the Democratic Party as the dominant party. The recent dominance of the Republican Party in the South began when a growing number of Southern Democrats reconciled their political beliefs with their party affiliation by switching to the Republican Party.
You didn't "get" her column.
She isn't saying he should stay, either.
Clearly she is of the mind that the statement that set this in motion should not be the reason if he ends up losing his leadership position, but his handling in the aftermath.
She goes on to list democrats getting away with supporting ideals that are at odds with American ideals with no censure from the media BUT she also points out that Lott has a penchant for catering to the dems, i.e. the Kelly Flinn situation. She points out that some republicans wanted him out for these kowtowing ways and that if he goes that should be the reason.
She is exactly right.

Considering the fact that she clearly says that a) Conservatives 'got it' long ago, and b) liberals, with their inferior intellects only just now 'got it', and c) You have yet to get it. What does that say about your intellect?
What part of this next part did you fail to get, or are you willfully blind?:
Republicans should ask Lott to step down as leader, but only for all the nice things he's said about Teddy Kennedy. -Ann Coulter
Yes, Lott should step down, but not over this debacle, it would only give the Dems more fodder.
Only one problem with that...Lott was born in 1941...he was only 7 years old in 1948!
As long as he steps down poste haste, I don't care what reason you attach to it. It's time for new Leadership.
