Jesse Jackson is on Fox News taking up for Lott. LOL!

As much outrage that boob has created, I cant help but think this guy is either the dumbest man on Earth, or ignorant beyond all possiblity. That or he is right. Which I cant bring myself to think he is.

ABC reported Gore won Florida in 2000.
Those Senators are in their home districts for the holidays. They are getting an earfull from their home bases. Much could change between now and Jan 6. Lott's lot (pardon the pun) isn't set in concrete for him to retain ML.

LOL!! Good for him. Senator Lott, I disagree with your political stance on many occasions but I don't like seeing anyone offered up to the multiculturalists by their own party

Trent Lott is beginning to remind of Hitler in his final days in the bunker, ordering around those imaginary Germany army divisions which no longer existed.

I wonder if there's any connection between this and the milder tone Ari Fleischer took towards Lott today.

The rats want Lott to stay as majority leader, therefore he has to become a regular Senator and let somebody with a brain take over.
If he isn't a racist, what the hell was he apologizing for in the first place?.
His pandering to the left as the price of his personal redemption is completely unacceptable.
He is an idiot, a spineless idiot, and it's time for an effective MAJORITY leader to take over.
Minority leaders don't make good majority leaders, they have the wrong mindset.

A Party that is stupid enough to allow an incompetent such as Trent Lott to hold any position of leadership deserves to lose. There is a lot of negative talk here about the Libertarians, but they are looking like an attractive alternative.

E, If both sides get to vote, the Democrats will undoubtedly elect Lott again. Peace and love, George.

Lott was trying to say nice things about a 100 year old senator, and screwed it up. Then he screwed up his apologies. THAT is not why he may be about to be ousted.
Lott has done a lousy job as Senate Republican leader. THAT is why Trent Lott needs to go.

Someone needs to tell him the Dem's don't get to vote in this one.

ABC reporter in Mississippi repeats the report, saying Lott told him, "I don't want to be presumptuous, but I think I have the votes to win." He has spoken to almost all the Republican senators in the past couple of days. Sen. Stevens of Alaska told him to hang in there, and Lott said he would do just that.

I just called the white house, the RNC, and Jeb Bush's office and told them that egomaniac Lott is prepared to destroy the entire republican party.

I (like many here) predicted that the dems would try to damage him badly, but keep him in power, and that Trent would sell his soul to stay there.
They want still there, but even weaker than before (yes, we are now seeing it is possible), all the way up to elections, when the gloves will come off, and we'll see the highest black votor turnout in history.
If Lott stays on as SML, the pubbies deserve what they get.

Look, I'm no huge fan of TL. He oftimes has been a milquetoast, pushover for liberals. And look at what his "moderation" has gotten him: a full fledged public crucifixion for essentially getting carried away at a party. He didn't get drunk and drive a girl off a bridge...that'd be forgiveable.
I wish the Republican caucus had the b***s to say they want a strong leader who'll stand UP to the Democrat Party apparatus--if he were removed for that reason, I'd support it.
But a racist he's not...I cannot support a removal for a bogus reason like that. Of course, he could now be removed for 'political' purposes, and that would be understandable. But the caucus, imho, should've come forward before and said, "Look, he's been elected leader precisely because he isn't the man the press is painting him to be. For others to paint him as a racist is to label all of us racist, and we clearly are not racist."
Just mho. RD

The Christian Defense Coalition has now called for Lott's resignation.
