I havn't fallen for this RAT trick, But I do question why and how Trent Lott could say he supported Affirmative Action on BET when his record is clear and we all know how easy it is to defend this position to the racist CBC or anyone who challenged it. All week I have said that Trent Lott is no racist and this is just another smear campaign by the race baiting RATS and his apology was sufficient and this is no reason for him to step down as the ML. But after watching him look like a spineless worm on BET, I can't help but think he has lost his ability to lead.

If Trent Lott would have said:

"I stand behind my voting record and I condemn Affirmative Action because I believe if the color of one's skin is the deciding factor whether that person gets the job or gets accepted into a University.... It's a racist policy, PERIOD"

but instead he said he supports Affirmative Action"

This is what I've been saying all along. Lott in leadership is detrimental. Now, he did it and continues to do it. BUT, it *IS* better now to clear the underbrush, too late for my taste, but better do it now before the Lott can do this to us YET AGAIN.

I'm thinkin I heard Lott apologize for his votin' record and declare his actions didn't match up with his record. It's one hellacious mess.

These people are actually surprised by this interview. What did they expect? Hell it amazes me that he didn't throw Jesse Jackson a kiss. Maybe the next conservative that apologizes for being born will do it. BET can have weekly program devoted to apologetic conservatives.

If Reagan added that if the Germans had won, we wouldn't be facing some of the problems we're seeing now, then yes.

The fact you even have to say this makes me wonder if the people defending Lott's comments don't have some soul searching to do. Lott's remarks repulsed light colored people in the GOP as much as anyone else.

The problem is that those Germans did not apologize for their actions. Thurmons has apologized for his past for the last forty years. As for some "soul-searching," the last time I checked the color of my skin, it's brown.

Lott just called every white southerner a racist

As if that has never happened before. We have been called that for as long as I can remember. It is still not going to make me jump on the lynch Trent Lott wagon.

If anyone had wanted to throw him out as ML before this I would have been all for it. I am not going to let race baiters do this again. I'm sick of it.
