Where did you hear that the Clintons were joking about setting Bush up for the next 4 years? That sounds interesting

Exactly! He will run in 2008 when Bush completes his second term. This guy has waited his whole life to be President of these United States. He is not out for good.

Hi...Badger1 and everybody else on this thread,

In my humble opinion...

Mr. AlGor-be-tross got the Old..."Arkencide" Phone Call!

You can take that to the nearest Chi-Com Bank in HollyWeird.

The way was made clear for HilzeBeast to rise to the Position that she has been Scratching, Clawing and Blood Letting for all these past 25 (long hard) years with X42.

She's gettin' Old Crusty Ready for 2004!

You can never account for taste...
by Mia T

I must be some different kind of woman. I never found clinton attractive.
Wait4Truth

I agree with you totally, I would never have gone out 'on a date' with Clinton. He does not appeal to me at all.

Joan Didion turns on the boy president Clinton and bites off a chunk most likely from his fat tush!--dennisw

"Fat tush," indeed.

You can never account for taste...I never did understand what Tina, Barbra, et al. see in the Rapist. Personally, I find him profoundly estrogenic; (check out the hands as well as the butt and the temperament.)

But clinton's putative charm is belied not only by excess estrogen; the rapist is a real loser; he is effete, cowardly, classless, clueless, paunchy, asexual, impotent, prepubescent, small, bent, banal, dilettantish, dim, defective, misogynous, with the bulbous, cocaine-and-rosacea etched nose and edematous face of W.C Fields, the inclination of Oedipus (ever notice how pre-op Paula resembles Momma?) and the predatory predisposition of Jack The Ripper.

An aside:

Memoirists will be impelled to reveal all and Democratic partisans will claim to be shocked, shocked at President Pinocchio.

When a president has reduced himself
to a cross between
a Mickey Mouse watch and a puerile, perfidious puppet,
I'd say it's time for him to go.

If the Congress can't think through this no-brainer legally or morally,
perhaps it should start thinking aesthetically.

Time to give the presidency a nose job.
Trade in that bulbous, cocaine-etched, Pinocchio monstrosity
for the classic, attractive,
relatively size-stable Roman number waiting in the wings.
(NOTE: I was taking poetic license here.)

It's possible of course, but by 2008 Gore will have been out of office for eight years, and I think it will be very hard for him to maintain the high profile, set of contacts and donors, etc. that it would take.

May I reminder you of another Vice President who ran for President. He lost by the narrowest of margins. Many of his supporters said that he really won, but was cheated out of it. Eight years later Richard Nixon ran for the White House and won.

Would Nixon had won if RFK was not eliminated?

Eliminated...what an interesting word.

Of course in the 1960's nobody thought it was an organized world-wide effort when an Arab killed a Presidential candidate. If we only knew then what we know now...

Back to your question, while no one knows for sure, I would say that at the least it would have been closer. I am not convinced RFK would have won, the tenor and tone would have been decidedly different. Humphrey carried the Liberal Democrat torch well, but he was not the personality that RFK was. Wallace still would have split the some of the conservative Democratic vote, so Nixon may have still won.

If RFK won, we would not have recognized China, (only Nixon could go to China), and I doubt if relations would have improved with the USSR, laying the groundwork for the eventual crumbling of the Communist Bloc. The world would definitely have been a different place if RFK had won.

When you refered to the "sore", I thought you were talking about Gore as in SoreLoserman........

I didn't bother to read the thread before it was too late to figure out what you were asking of me.

Damn!

Nobody to the right of Che Guevara or under 80 watches 60 minutes. If Che were still alive, he'd be too young to be a correspondent on the show.

Hillary will not run in 2004 (or 2008). She knows she'll be pummeled. Even Bill Maher agrees.
