Alec Baldwin's NYC curveball
U.S. News- Washington Whispers ^ | 12/13/2002 | Paul Bedard

Actor and liberal activist Alec Baldwin has an idea that's either gonna guarantee him that New York House or Senate seat he covets or make him a permanent fill-in on Hollywood Squares: Put the new Yankee stadium on ground zero as a memorial to 9/11 victims. "It's the most interesting thing I have heard," he says. Baldwin and New York PR man Phil Nourie hatched the idea. Baldwin calls it "a mix of the commemorative and the practical." He says every game could begin with a moment of silence and that survivors and members of the NYPD and the FDNY could get discounted tickets. Baldwin's goal is to stir the pot just as a new round of ground zero proposals is due. Other ideas, he says, don't mix commemorating 9/11 with boosting Manhattan's economy. Early reviews are bad. The Bronx Bombers tell Whispers that they don't want to move to the World Trade Center. Baldwin expected that but says: "We have an eye on tomorrow . . . it's the best thing for the city."

Alec Baldwin is a P.O.S.

Just let him keep talking. The more he talks the more he sounds like a jackass.

Doesn't this fool ever go away?

And where is the BARF alert?

What an idiot! That ought to be fun, having a ball game on the site where thousands of people lost their lives.

And where is the BARF alert?

Since the name Alec Baldwin is in the title, a Barf Alert would be redundant.

Anyone who would vote for Alec Baldwin would be getting exactly what he deserves. The trouble is, if he won, good innocent people would have to suffer.

And to think that that P.O.S. played Tom Clancy's great Jack Ryan once in Hunt For Red October... Makes me sick.

If only this A-hole was at at ground zero on 9/11!

I know that is a great movie and hard pill to swallow knowing P.O.S. played Jack Ryan. I'm surprised Tom didn't have any say in who would play Jack. Tom is a republican I know that.

Yeah, or maybe in Iraq with Sean Penn.

Why don't we just stick BALDWIN at ground zero in a little league uniform and bat him around? Think of all the money we could raise for FR at about 500 bucks a swing!
