Operation Infinite FReep in Fresno, CA (12-13-02)
12/13/02
Posted on 12/13/2002 10:01:25 PM PST by mtngrl@vrwc
Tonight we FReeped in the rain once more. A slow steady rain fell the whole time we were out there counter-protesting the ten or so peaceniks across the street from us. It wasn't exactly cold, maybe 65 degrees or so, but those cars whizzing by us make it seem colder by the wind chill factor they caused. Some of us stood under the EZ-up and others of us stood out on Freeper Island to be sure to capture the attention of those driving by.
As we FReeped, we ate lemon cookies, drank hot tea, and visited with each other. Those driving by tonight who were able to see us in the dark and the rain, which is a rarity in Fresno which gets only about ten inches of rain a year, honked to show their support for the troops and President Bush.
The Freepers who were able to attend tonight were:
- Jim, Sheila, and Chris Robinson
- JustAmy
- Notpoliticallycorewrecked
- Mtngrl@vrwc
To those who weren't able to make it to tonight's FReep, we missed you terribly! To those who were able to come, thanks!

Good work you guys!! Freeping in the rain is the Right thing to do. Our troops serve in all kinds of weather. You did your part too.
JustAmy, you are indeed one of Freeper's Finest!

I just know you have missed me Mo1!!!! No one to torture for a while with your fastest keyboard in the country eh? LOL! I was planning on being here in time to beat ya this time, but alas, my runny nose and lousy cold preferred I hit the steam instead!!!!!!
Just be warned, I am back! :-)

Hi! Was hoping Chads and I could finally return this week, but we both are under the weather. I caught the creepy crud, and then gave it to him!
We both miss being there. Thanks to you faithful who braved the rain and cold to show support for our troops!

You and Chadsworth were very missed tonight! I am glad you weren't there though, because cold wet weather isn't good for what ails the two of you. You guys just get better, ya hear?
To: mtngrl@vrwc
Wow, Chris is just wasting away to nothing isn't he? I hope he ate some of the cookies!
Hope to see all of you soon!

This gentleman stopped by to tell us he has passed by our corner many times and was glad to see us here. Says that if he could, he would much rather stand on our corner with us than on the other corner with the other guys. He also said that to him there are lots of colors, but the most important are not black, white or brown... the most important colors are red, white and blue.
He had the idea for this shirt that he's holding and has made and given away over a hundred of them. The photo doesn't do it justice, but it's red and white stripes with white stars in a field of blue across the shoulders and down the front.
We invited him to come join us next week. He said he would if he could.
Thank you sir! Very nice to meet you and we would love you to join us.

Bless your red, white and blue hearts! You all are so dedicated! We couldn't get away from the studio in time to make it up there tonight. Will try to make it next time, promise. :-)

Hi lir. Hope you and chads get to feeling better soon. And, yes, looks like Chris is about to waste away to nothing. I sure wish I had his determination, sigh. :-(
