Time to start the betting -- day and time, Washington DC -- that Lott announces his withdrawal from the Majority Leader position.
His situation has reached the level that makes it nearly impossible to recover from. If he hangs on, he will be neutered and will impact the 2004 Republican position. Lott has become a ineffective leader, a liability.

How do figure when the Confederate flag decided multiple races in the South just a month ago?

Agreed. He needs to take a bullet for his team and resign as majority leader. He will not recover. I don't want his baggage strapped to the Republican Party. I do not want Lott representing me.

Bull manure! If you and your toleration for Democrap smears prevail, then all is lost. We fight now for victory. Lott does not cave and we shove the charges back down their own throats. Don't tell me you believe that Black Democrats don't refer to "Honkies" when there are in their own offices. Don't let them do this!!

Time to steal a page out of the Rats playbook-It's wag the dog time. Bush better blow something up quick. While everyone is cheering the sight of muslims roasting over an open fire, Lott can nobly resign his leadership position. He must keep his Senate seat as Mississippi has a Rat Governor.
I have more sympathy for Lott then most Freepers. He seems like a decent fellow and keeping Chaffee, Snowe, etc...in line must be like herding cats. That being said, the cold, hard, and brutal fact is that he is now a political liability and has reversed some of the gains the Pubbies were making with the minorities. Sorry Trent-be a man and take one for the team. This nation is fighting an undeclared civil war against the socialist swine and we can't afford to have you around.

Time to start the betting -- day and time, Washington DC -- that Lott announces his withdrawal from the Majority Leader position. Ditto. Lott's comments were just awful. He should step down as Senate Leader. He is damaged beyond all repair.
