GARFIELD, N.J. -- An 80-year-old woman was mauled to death by two pit bull dogs that she had known since they were puppies, Bergen County authorities said Tuesday.
Wounds caused by claws or teeth covered more than 80 percent of Julia Mazziotto's body, and the medical examiner found she had also suffered a broken right wrist, county Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said.
Blood soaked her clothing and was spattered on the walls and floor of her apartment, he said.

Smart dogs have a "go for the throat" attitude...but they often go for the genitals. Just something to bear in mind...also useful if one finds one's self wrestling with one. Not a bad idea trying it on THEM, in a "pinch!"

They must have fed me dog because an hour later I wasn't hungry again...
Pit's and Rott's are always in season in our city...that gives me a good idea for a second income...
Now should I sell by the pound or by the breed?
I remember the first time I was overseas and heard the "chicken leg" routine. "Chicken leg" must be asian for doberman pinschur.

Oh, my God. Poor grandma. This is absolutely horrible beyond belief. This is yet another indication that surely we are in the "last days".

I would love to find out if Koreans think that certain breeds taste better than others? Do they go bonkers for poodles, say?
To: Travis McGee
I hear poodle goes well with kim-che (or whatever they call that rotten cabbage stuff)
I wonder what goes well with that phillipino delicacy- baloot?

The apologists for this breed make it sound like these dogs are people who can change their nature with education. They are not people - they are dogs! Dogs bred to kill... Exactly. Bred to kill. In other words, it is instinct. Instinct is very difficult to curtail. Some breeds are bred for killing, and some are not. Those that are bred to kill, are a much bigger problem than those that are not bred to kill. It's simple logic.

Nope - The ONLY insane person, would be the one that attempted to get anywhere NEAR our three year old while the Pit is 'on guard' !! Many dogs will guard their food.

Instinct is very difficult to curtail. You might want to brush up on the history of the APBT. They were *never* "bred to kill" and certainly do not have that "instinct." If you believe pitbulls have a killing instinct, or are bred to be "killers", how then do you explain away the fact that the majority of pitbulls have never attacked (much less killed) anyone?
Btw, the pitbull threads at FR are a perfectly example of why educating humans is often a waste of time. Some people wouldn't change their minds no matter how much information or education they get.

I am not a Pitt Bull dogs of peace contingent, but I can tell you that I have 3 Pitts and they've alway's been good dogs. Dogs are just like people, some are good but some are bad. Others are just treated like $hit & end hurting people, perhaps these dogs were just crazy but perhaps something or someone made them this way.
To: Gigantor
Pitt Bulls were never bred to kill humans, as a matter of fact most are bred to fight other dogs and that's it. You make a comparison that dogs aren't human, well your right we're alot more vicious & kill alot more human beings than they ever will.

"Although it is a courageous and persistent fighter if provoked, and needs firm, kind training to control this instinct, its basic temperament towards people is gentle and loving. " This is from www.dogbreedinfo.com.

Alright, I was reasonable with you the first time around and yes, you are the main nut I was reffering to. I was polite by stating, "A lot of dogs get in fights. All breeds. Pitts are very strong dogs. They do the most damage in the fights. Why is it so wrong for someone NOT to want a pitt bull". What is your problem? Get off my case. I don't like these dogs. That's my opinion! I never said I lived on hills? I have a great fence, the dang dog dug a whole under it. My neighbors are scum. You don't know them either. The ex boyfriend (one of about 15 of them) tried to burn the house down, then her car. They leave their "Honey buckets" (from the outhouse) near the road. They have a mound of trash about 15 feet high in the yard. The girl runs off and leaves her animals there with no food or water EVERY winter and I go feed them.
Living in rural Alaska, you are lucky that you didn't attract a male wolf to your yard especially as you have children. Now, I have certainly never heard of that happening up here. My fence is 5 feet high and a very well built fence and I thought my dog would be fine. I did nto realize she was in heat until that day. But that's not really your problem is it.
foreknowledge that you neighbors had a male Pitbull that you claimed was on the loose
he's usually tied to a tree
The impregnation of your dog was your responsibility.
I ever claimed otherwise. Coming here to rant as you put it was a request to find out about dog abortion or spaying. A reuest for advice.
Last but not least I could care less about your experiences with pitt bulls. You are abviously one of those people who think everyone that owns a mean dog is stupid or irresponsible. Even poodles get in fights, their owners are stupid to to you. I have nothing else to say to you.
