Yep. And you just know the public perception will continue to be manipulated by the liberals, because obviously, if Lott didn't do anything wrong, then why did he resign? The spin will be that Lott is, in fact, a racist. And Drudge is only helping to add to that spin.

It's a wicked game, but we absolutely MUST stand up and fight against this crap. Amazing, too, how so many Dems rallied around Clinton in 1998, but look how so many Republicans want to dump Lott.

For so long, many here have said that Republicans need to get a spine- especially Lott. Well now is the chance to show that spine and fight against this liberal onslaught.

I admire James Madison. I believe he was a brilliant political theoretician. I'm glad he served as president of the United States and I'm even more happy that he was one of the leading forces behind our Constitution. I also revere that document, and admire the men who ratified it.

I agree - the republicans did an extremely poor job in educating the public on its history...

the civil rights act of 1964 would not have passed without the republican votes -

the first black in congress was a republican

the first black senator was a republican - 3 in total - the rats only had carol mosely braun - for the entire senate history

thurmond was a dixiecrat in 1948, elected as a democrat in 1954, vote no in civil rights act as a democrat

algore sr, sen. fulbright (klinton's mentor) - voted no in the civil rights act

the most senior dem. senator in the senate is a former kkk member and had repeatly used the N world on tv

the most powerful blacks in this country is powell and rice - both are appointed by a republican admin. based on merits rather than skin color

the most powerful slavemasters of the blacks are the self-appointed black leaders - they kept on complaining on the inequality issue and yet had done zitch for the blacks in poor neighbourhoods - of couse they lined their pockets thru of cash thru extortions from corporate america or other shady means...

Trent Lott should be replaced in his next primary not because he has praised the great Strom Thurmond, but because he is CORRUPT. Not all 'civil rights' bills are created equal. Some are simply a way to politically make Republicans look bad, because they aren't about helping society and are loaded with lots of communist, big government junk.

How can Vacant Lott ever stand up to ANY proposed Civil Rights legislation every again, no matter how horrible it is? He, once again, is a failed leader. It's time for him to take the hit personally and step down from leadership. If he's a team player, he will remain in the Senate and take the final hit that (self-imposed) that takes him out.

I agree, Lott lost my support when he decided he would share power with the RATS when the Senate was 50/50 and we had the majority with Cheney's vote. There is no way in hell that sawed off little Satanic Troll Tom Daschle would of done the same if the tables were turned!
