I received the 2002 Whitehouse Christmas card (postmarked Crawford, Tx.) and wanted to share it with any and all. I've scanned the card in and the first page is approx. 500k in size. The second is about 190k.

Image two: inside card
I didn't bother to scan the back side, but it states:
"1938 Steinway Piano in the Grand Foyer
The White House 2002

I received the 2002 Whitehouse Christmas card (postmarked Crawford, Tx.) Just out of curiosity, did I miss the word Christmas on the card? Not to be a stickler, but it appears to be a general seasonal card (which would explain why no mention on Christ). If it was a Christmas card that said Xmas I could understand being upset about the lack of a Christ centered card. It appears to be a generic card sent out during a month in which many people celebrate some holiday or other. The interior biblical quote is generic (yet a bold step these days to quote the bible).
You interpreted it as a christmas card, someone else may have saw it as a hannukah card (and it did quote from the OT).
In defense of Bush on this item - he would have to have a very accurate list in order to send out the right cards to the right people, and this covered the bases perfectly while allowing for a biblical quote (OT is recognized by jews, christians, and muslims).
Just my 2 cents.

How did you get on the list?
Who do you know?

I guess Bush takes his past remarks about representing all Americans seriously on this Holiday Season. God Bless him.

A lot of people have criticized this card because Christ is absent, but I'm not so sure. The inside of the card says, "The Lord is good," probably replacing the Tetragrammaton with Lord. Now, to (most) Trinitarians and Modalists who make up the vast majority of practicing Christians, Jesus is the Lord. So believers should see Christ in there, very clearly. "A rose by any other name," and all that. Arians would say that Jesus is not "the Lord," but the Church worked very hard to get rid of them some centuries back.

It's not a Christmas card. Christmas isn't mentioned.

Although the card did not mention Christmas, it did have a line from scripture.
Psalm 100:5.
"For the Lord is Good; His Mercy is Everlasting;
And His Truth Endureth To All Generations."
In my eyes that is a true Christmas message.

I got one. :) It's a beautiful card with a lovely psalm inside. I consider it an honor to get this card, and I'm thankful President Bush won back the Senate.

No matter what take you folks may have on this, I am very proud of my neighbor, Zhen-Huan Lu, who lives right down the street here in Kennesaw, GA.

It quotes a psalm and the cover has eagles on it. I like it.

I received a White House Christmas Card and think it is beautiful and in keeping with the one that George and Laura Bush sent out the year before he was inaugurated. That one showed the staircase and entrance hall of the Texas Governor's Mansion.
Everyone who goes on the White House tour can see this piano as they are leaving through the front door. The card is a nice reminder of that experience.

My card is slightly different.
On the bottom it says, "Hey John, howyadoin? We whipped their ass pretty good in that midterm election, eh?" :-}

Got mine last week! It's now with my 2001 WH one and 2000 Governor's one.

Got mine last week. First time ever I've received a Christmas card from the White House. Hmmm... could it have something to do with my membership in the RNC??? :-)
