I received the 2002 Whitehouse Christmas card (postmarked Crawford, Tx.) and wanted to share it with any and all.

My example of the Whitehouse Christmas card probably is NOT the BEST example to prove America is turing more Secular each day.

How about starting with your own religion. 30%-50% gay priest, rampant sexual abuse, majority of Catholics vote for the pro abortion party, etc, etc.

What is YOUR reason for being here on earth, as a Christian?

Don't ask me. I'm not the one with the "Holiday" card. I'm proud to say I celebrate Christmas, even if it does "offend" some people.

Jesus' Birth is what it my card centers on.

But does it say that? Of course not. That might "offend" someone.

In defense of Bush on this item - he would have to have a very accurate list in order to send out the right cards to the right people, and this covered the bases perfectly while allowing for a biblical quote (OT is recognized by jews, christians, and muslims).

Exactly correct.

And then, of course, the whiners would be complaining that he was "profiling" people.

You missed the point! I was trying to make people see that sending a card from A GOVERNMENT is not the same as your personal cards to your family.

<>That is a Christmas card from the President and his family. At least so far, Bush isn't the entire Govt:). Now, he says Jesus is his favorite philosopher - well, let him prove it; and, what better time to offer proof?<>

Excuse me ... but wouldn't you be offended if I sent you a tape of people praying in tongues, since your church teaches that such a thing is of the devil ...???

<> I wouldn't be offended if you sent that to me. However, speaking in tongues is not what this Holy Day is about. It is about the Inacrnation.

You are incorrect the Catholic Church teaches that praying in tongues is of the devil. Please show me in the Catechism were we teach such things<>

Are you getting the point now??

<> With all due respect, I don't think your "points" applicable to the matter under discusion.<>

I speak in tongues, but I don't shove it in other people's faces, especially when they don't believe in it.

<> Acknowledging, celebrating, and honoring The Incarnation ought to be done even if 99% of the Unites States population was atheist. Why let the few tyrannise the many?<> I believe the life you live, and your conduct toward others, says more about your faith than all the stuff you can spout.

<> I agree; which in this case doesn't speak well for the Prez. On the campaign trail he was all bluster about Jesus. When it comes time to illustrate his courage re a mere Christmas Card, he genuflects to the "tolerance" crowd which has NO tolerance for Christians.<>

I've heard a lot of people quote the Bible, but that doesn't mean they really believe it or that it plays a real part in their life.

Hopefully, next year's card will have a picture taken this year by Barney Cam.

NOOOO! I think that Barney is a born trouble maker, no telling what he might do! ;-)

The same thing happened to me when I purchased my stamps. The clerk gave me the snowmen stamps and I asked for something else. He reluctantly (and I mean that) showed me the Madonna and Child stamps, but sneered, "most people prefer the snowmen."

Don't tell, but rumor has it that GHWB, aka "Rubbers," has leaked info that Barney was instrumental in GWB appointing 5 pro abortion judges in NJ.

My sources also tell me that Barney was caught leaking on a WH Christmas and it was all caught on Barney Cam.

I’ve never thought well of that Barney fellow and this proves it. You give a Scotsman a cushy job and all he can drink, and I promise you that nothing will come of it save trouble! From all I’ve seen and heard I’m convinced he’s the biggest “leaker” in the White House.

I don't recall NY Catholic bashing Protestants and Born Again Christians, all she did was comment on an ugly Christmas Card sent by Bush or the White House with no reference to Christmas.

So, how did you turn this thread around into a Catholic Bashing Thread?

Oh, and a majority of Catholics do not vote for abortion politicians, ever hear of the REAGAN DEMOCRATS. Yes, if and when a true pro-life candidate does run, last being Reagan, they do cross over and vote republican.

**santa splattered on a plane is more Christmas like than a grand piano in a room.**

How unfortunate you focus on a piano rather than the scripture shared in the Presidential Christmas card.

Equally unfortunate that you consider Santa a true symbol of Christmas rather than Biblical scripture.

You prove yourself to be a fool.

There's a new thread on the White House Christmas. The theme is "All Creatures Great and Small."

Perhaps you would care to spread your holiday cheer there as well. When I see that you think Santa splatted on the front of an airplane is more Christmas-like than a card with poinsettias, a piano, and a psalm, I see that it isn't the religious aspect you care about. You simply are looking for any excuse to complain.

Grand Piano for our Lords Birth? What a joke not even a mention of Christ. GWB is way to concerned what people the PC world thinks.

The name of Jesus was not spoken one time last Christmas and this one looks like a repeat..a "safe Psalm" and a "Happy Holiday" the bone thrown to the "religious right"

Not one mention of Jesus ...just consider that ..a prayer meeting for the Muslims, a religious celebration for the close of the Jewish Holy Days ..But the name of Jesus may NOT be spoken..

Happy retailers holiday to you mama

It is quite obvious to me that the Presidential Christmas card, complete with lovely scripture, is indeed a Christmas card.

I don't know where you've been but I've heard President Bush speak of Christmas and Jesus a number of times.

Your flippant retort for me to have a Happy Retailers Holiday was unkind. We don't max out $-wise for Christmas. Jeez.

Add'l note...seems as though even if President Bush had a picture of Christ himself on the Christmas card, you'd have something to complain about. You're just complainers is all. Get a life.
