I received the 2002 Whitehouse Christmas card (postmarked Crawford, Tx.) and wanted to share it with any and all. I've scanned the card in and the first page is approx. 500k in size. The second is about 190k.
Image one: front cover
Image two: inside card
I didn't bother to scan the back side, but it states:
"1938 Steinway Piano in the Grand Foyer
The White House 2002

It saddens my heart that we are taking Christ out of Christmas in the name of tolerance and inclusion. It is true Jesus is hated even in this Country. The more and more I think about GWB is better than Clinton and Gore but by how much?

I ALSO RECEIVED THE WHITE HOUSE CHRISTMAS CARD. I THINK IT SHOW'S THE CLASS OF LAURA BUSH.QUITE DIFFERENT THEN HILLARY CLINTON. I AM SO PROUD OF PRESIDENT & MRS.BUSH, FOR THEIR DIGNITY & HONOR THEY HAVE PUT BACK INTO THE WHITE HOUSE. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL.GRANNIE

Personally, I think it is a appropriate card, understated and humble, just like the First Family.

Do you think Christ would have wanted the people of the United States of America to be intolerant to people of other faiths? How would He have handled those who "hate" Him?

Had not noticed the postmark, but the envelope has a real stamp on it. ;-)

I received the 2002 Whitehouse Christmas card (postmarked Crawford, Tx.) Just out of curiosity, did I miss the word Christmas on the card? Not to be a stickler, but it appears to be a general seasonal card (which would explain why no mention on Christ). If it was a Christmas card that said Xmas I could understand being upset about the lack of a Christ centered card. It appears to be a generic card sent out during a month in which many people celebrate some holiday or other. The interior biblical quote is generic (yet a bold step these days to quote the bible).
You interpreted it as a christmas card, someone else may have saw it as a hannukah card (and it did quote from the OT).
In defense of Bush on this item - he would have to have a very accurate list in order to send out the right cards to the right people, and this covered the bases perfectly while allowing for a biblical quote (OT is recognized by jews, christians, and muslims).
Just my 2 cents.

Perhaps the piano is for playing Christmas Hymns!

Christmas is the celebration of Jesus Christ's birth..the grand piano and a quote from the old testament does not suffice for this Catholic Christian not when my beliefs are attacked daily. Besides America is 90% Christian. It is a Joke.

I BOYCOT ALL BUSINESS THAT LEAVES CHRIST out of Christmas. I will not buy Christmas cards unless they say Merry Christmas. No Seasons Greetings nor Happy Holidays cards are purchased in my family.Grannie

when my beliefs are attacked dailySo I guess that means you are blaming the current administration for this?
