Arizona militia set to patrol border for illegal aliens

A former kindergarten teacher who has organized a 600-strong militia in Arizona will station 50 armed militia members on public land this weekend to "protect their country" against an invasion of illegal aliens, warning federal authorities

What should be reported is that:

The organization "Civil Homeland Defense" has filed for 501 c 3 status, is NOT a militia and is NOT a group of vigilantes. In fact, the organization specifically disavows such terms. This very aspect is most frustrating to the liberal main media.

The Civil Homeland Defense organization is responding to President George W. Bush's 2002 State of the Union Address in which he called for all Americans to engage in volunteer service and announced the creation of USA Freedom Corps.

As much as you're on FR it's hard to believe that you've missed Michelle Malkin. She has gained stature as an FR pinup girl equal to that of Ann Coulter.

So, are you trying to say I should know about her, lol? Well, I have heard her name; I did hear her talk on FOX news (once, I think)....but I didn't know her stature here in FR, that she's a FReeper, that she wrote the book Invasion (actually, I never heard of it before this thread)...... Now, what I'd like to know is: what the heck is MY PROBLEM? Who took my brain and when did they take it? : )

Drug cartels are certainly moving into the illegal alien smuggling business.

Yet Bush is against closing the borders.....this makes absolutely no sense; I don't understand him on this, at all.

As I've posted, his position makes absolutely no sense....and because of that, any position he takes with regard to "our security" lacks credibility, unless and until, he fixed a major security problem: the borders.

No, you do nothing but prove to yourself your own points as you go. A good 30 minutes to research all of those peple and their life or death issues? Right. I am sure if it was your life or death struggle you would hope someone would spend more than a passing minute or two coming to such a conclusion. I guess I was completely mistaken in hoping for sincerity on your part.

The fact is, your methods of slash and burn don't hold water to the efforts of those risking all. You were called on Klamath and you did not and could not respond because you were way off base in your assertions. The people there did not "wait" until a Republican was in office ... it happened under that Republican. Open your eyes. I agree with much of what Bush does ... but also call him or anyone else on the glaring issues.

I tried to give you the benefit of the doubt. I always will do that if at all possible ... and on an internet forum it is almost always possible. But your spitting on the life risk and sacrifice of sincere and honest people is truly pathetic and unworthy of any more time or effort.

I am perfectly content at this point to let the readers go through the exchange and decide for themselves.

LETS GET REAL !!.... First off the statistics are wrong. We catch almost 1 million illegals every year and it is estimated we miss 3 million more that filter in to work around the United States. Obviously rather than face the scrutiny of normal US entry methods the next terrorist will come across the border. The problem is not a "minor" irritant but a major threat to Americans everywhere.
Second, for a variety of reasons (political correctness, economics, personal bias etc) the current efforts will never work and "something" MUST be done. The placing of armed civilians along the border will not be much more effective and is frought with potential disaster. It's principle value is to focus attention on a major breech in our National security.
Third, as long as you insist upon enjoying low prices for your store bought vegetables and do not want to pay higher prices for thousands of other products and services..... illegal aliens will find employment. Attempts to isolate and boycott these law benders will NEVER be effective. Between the radical left, minority activists and big business money , not to mention lack of comsumer support , a boycott will fail. The only recourse is a program for cross border employment of temporary workers. These people often pay thousands of dollars and risk their lives to enter the US. It seems logical they would pay a reasonable fee to come here safely and legally to work. This fee could be used to provide them the public services normally paid for in taxes. This would releave the pressure on the border patrol and maybe they could provide border security.
I wrote the IRS.... and was of course ignored.... with several suggestions to improve border security.
1. Have a "Hotline" for the reporting illegal alien activity.
2. INS Liason officers to local law enforcement facilities in access corridors to stem the tide of illegal alien crimes/crossings. Currently local law enforcement do not care if someone breaks our National immigration laws and will not respond to calls unless a crime?? is committed.
3. An airlift of illegal aliens to the southern regions of Mexico. This would slow the flow of repeat illegal border crossers.
4. Charge the Mexican government for each illegal alien sent back to Mexico. This would be a subtle encouragement for tghe Mexican government to put teeth in their border security policies.
I have no problem with hard working people trying to improve the quality of their lives. My problem is with parasites that come here to violate our laws and "steal" our tax dollars by living off our government programs.
There are people who live in Mexico and get welfare checks and other government benefits. They merely rent a post office box in one of the many border towns and file false claims. Sadly many government employees condone even encourage this "stealing".
Blanket awards of "legal status" is in effect rewarding illegal behavior not to mention encourages others to break our laws. When people repeatedly break our laws we ought to be able to efficiently deport them. This capacity alone would drasticly reduce our prison populations.

Have you guys forgotten that not long ago there were Mexicans offering a reward for every INS agent killed. This is not a "funny" situation. These amatuers could easily find themselves in a deadly firefight While I empathize with their goals I cringe at the potential disaster they represent.

Seriously, though, I think that it's time to invest in some decent night vision gear. Not that we face a sudden influx of Canadian illegals here in the Panhandle, but it's a good idea to be prepared.
