Texasforever, if with your "Klayman Basin Patriots" statement you are referring to the Klamath Basin, then I will out and out tell you to your face that you don't know what the hell you are talking about.

I stand by what I said. Both issues were alive and well prior to Bush's election and in both cases there were no in your face confrontations with the government until a Republican president was in office and Reno was safely out of the way.

I think they will help. Those brothers caught what, 8,000 illegals? That's 8,000 less illegals that will be occupying this country. That's a start, isn't it?

Once the border patrols show themselves to be sane and effective, more people will join. I think the numbers will eventually be large enough to make a concrete dent in illegal traffic. You have to keep your eye on the road ahead, not what is directly in front of you.

I agree with you, it is sad to see the United States becoming a puppet of Mexico.......

If I had just one wish for FReeper action, I would ask everyone who has read this thread to step back from singing in the FR choir, and take 10 ten minutes to write a short letter to Geo Busch. We all know the address!
Ask the President to read "Invasion". Ask him to close the border.
Then ask him to provide White House liason with citizen malitia's, to send the message that he does not support
easy entry for illegals.
A dozen letters would fall through the cracks - but a hundred dozen might get the subject onto a White House agenda for discussion.
This book needs to be hyped on any talk radio you listen to!

Sure will be embarassing if this group arrests a jeep full of Mexican Army people on one of their trips into our territory.

LOL ---could happen but if they run across those guys, I'm sure hoping our side is well armed. The Mexican army is helping the drug runners and there's some very big money involved.

It would be interesting to see whether the "government" would attempt to sic the military on the militia. Surely an American soldier could not harm a fellow american patriot.

When I was a Marine in 1984 my Regiment was given a questionnaire on our attitudes toward use of force inside the U.S. One of the questions asked was whether or not we would obey an order to fire on American citizens during a riot; the next question asked if we would obey an order to fire on American citizens who had armed themselves and were in opposition to the government (I don't remember the exact wording here, it was almost 20 years ago but the strangeness of it stayed in my mind). Given the gung-ho attitudes encouraged among the non-rates that IS entirely possible, sad to say.

>I agree that patriots are needed on our bleeding southern border far more than they are needed in some foreign sand-trap.<

I think more and more people are starting to feel this way. Would have gotting back sooner to this thread except there is a lot of freepers are complaining about Lott who by the way supports troops on the border.

By Les Kinsolving © 2002 WorldNetDaily.com At today's White House news briefing, WND – taking questions from the site's MR. PRESIDENT! forum – asked presidential press secretary Ari Fleischer about illegal immigration and racial preferences at universities.

WND: Ari, The Washington Times reports this morning that in Arizona there are more than a dozen known militia organizations responding to a reported 1 million illegal immigrants. And Chris Simcox, the newspaper publisher in Tombstone, is quoted as saying, "I dare the president of the United States to arrest Americans who are protecting their own country. We will no longer tolerate the ineptness of the government in dealing with these criminals and drug dealers." And my question – first question – does the president believe that such militia members should be arrested, or recruited, trained and deputized?

FLEISCHER: The president believes that the laws of the land need to be observed and the laws need to be enforced.

And then...

I am trying to get those of you that throw around the term "traitor" to agree with the punishment prescribed for the crime of treason.

Maybe the problem is that you sometimes take what people say too literally.

Oh that's interesting. I was unaware of that. BTW, I didn't mean to imply I thought you were gunning for a debate. Thanks for that bit of information.

I prefer to call these patrols and would correct the media every time they tried to call me a militia. The media is trying to frame these people as out of control mad-men. They are simply patroling the property. They are not acting as military troops.

I pinged everyone on this. I think it's an excellent idea. Please send a fax to the White House asking the President to take action. Folks, letters are a problem for our government offices these days, what with anthrax and all.
