Tell us how crowded/not crowded it was when you went to vote!
Did you see voter fraud and what is the talk about exit polling and the possible outcome?

I don't know about other areas, but in Shreveport/Bossier City we have always used the mechanical critters with the handle you use to close the curtain behind you.
Hope that's descriptive enough. I have no idea what they're called. I have never seen a touch screen in Louisiana, but I have never voted in NO or anywhere else down south.

Parish = County.
Precincts are, well, just precincts.

Your right. They are starting to panic at Big White. I know they are praying for a snowfall. We have had nice mild weather. AND DRY!! But fear not, the snow WILL come.

hey fury...I have one too...when someone asks me how I feel,I pause and say "with my hands" FR has the best wit! That is good!
At DU, folks seem to just throw f*** bombs - no witty thoughts. FR beats them all ways to sundown.

GrammAr, GrammAr, GrammAr.
Brought to you by the Department of Redundancy Department.
To: Torie
I think a few parishes have switched to touch-screen, but most still use the lever machines. It's real hard to spoil your vote on those things. 8^)

GrammAr, GrammAr, GrammAr. Got it! 'Grammer would be proud of you!

Those are called "machines" my dear. It may be the source of the use of the term for big city political organizations that round up votes through the use of incentives.

yeah, I'm tired of all the imaginary numbers we've been getting...

Or my answer to "What's up?"
My answer would be "a higher elevation relative to where you are now."

Great food and great culture indeed.
Well, I grew up in a very conservative, fairly religious oiltown in
north-central Oklahoma. Generally, I looked on NOLA as a loose, crime-ridden hell-hole.
But I went there for a scientific meeting; granted the motel I stayed at near
Bourbon Street had lots of security locks, but I seemed to be able to move about in the
evening hours without danger or threats.
I really remember being in a shopping area when I heard a 20-something black fellow
complaining to his wife/girlfriend that she'd spent all his money.
Sure, it's stereotypical, but as a white male, I sort of reflexively rolled my
eyes, not even thinking it would be noticed.
The black guy somehow caught my reaction and said "Hey baby, this man knows what
I am talking about!".
OK, it may have been a meetimg-of-the-minds for male neantherthals across
racial lines, but I was struck that this sort of thing probably wouldn't have happened
in such a casual and inoffensive (and even comedic) fashion in West Los Angeles.
I guess that my "summation" would be that anyone who has avoided New Orleans due
to some of the seemy-side image needs to visit. They might find the culture
a bit "earthy", but at least it's friendly.

when someone asks me how i'm doing, i respond with "i'm sick, sad, sorry and sober all at the same damn time"!!! that usually either makes 'em laugh or just stand there and look stupid. lol
To: Fury
My own grammers are both dead, and thank God they were never registered to vote in La., so they can rest in peace tonight.
To: ofMagog
There is also the question: "y'aunt to?", and the answer "aw'ite".
We also say: "get in the core and cut on the motor and warm err up, we gotta carry momma to the store"
