Did you see voter fraud and what is the talk about exit polling and the possible outcome?

You called it first,,or at least pointed it out. When I saw what you were saying, I knew there was major trouble. Thanks for following all this. And last,,thank all of you, the company is good, mostly good, you all are a treat to hang around with. And I think we ought to be kind to Pres. Bush, the people of Louisiana, the sugar growers {they need a job too} and karl Rove. This was a long shot and we fought a good fight. The best thing to know tonite,,we got the house and the senate and the big kahuna,,we can live without this seat. And mary is still gaining weight!!!
To: nicmarlo
The Republicans need to stop thinking about themselves and thinking about party unity... It was the sore loser Republicans that lost this election tonite...
To: Republican Wildcat
Quite frankly, who CARES who is governor of Louisiana other than the folks who live there? If Terrell runs for governor, it makes no difference nationally, not like losing a senate seat. AFter all, this is a state that has given the clown princes of politics the governor's chair: Huey Long, Edwin Edwards, "Foster" Brooks.

There is no recount in LA

"Methinks that our gal was simply not a strong candidate""Me thinks you are right .. but still all in all .. she did pretty good .. it was still a close race "
You're right. She had only run one other state wide race and didn't get into this one until late. She had s lot of ground to make up in a short time. It did not help her that Gov Foster and former Congressman Cooksey went into full-pout mode after the primary. A couple of wussies if ever there was.
To: Terry Mross
I'm surprised Terrell didn't win but then again, a lot of people vote for the best looking candidate and Mary is a lot prettier than Terrell. My ex wife voted for Clinton for governor the first time he ran because "He's so cute". Like I said, my "ex wife". The Economist had a study which showed that the most attractive candidates usually win, almost 100% chance when it is woman vs. woman. Terrell is nasty. Women like atractive women. GOP should have ran E.D. Hill (from FoxNews, a good Catholic) instead.
Landrieu has a very symmetrical face and blonde hair. Terrell has a severe, Hitlerian hairstyle and Norma Desmond eyelids. No contest.

I hate to say it but I predict for certain...
McCain and Chafee will defect soon. The GOP will never gain Senate control.
Reality stinks.

Nighty night. FReepmail.
To: puroresu
You really think Landrieu will vote pro-life? She'll vote any damn way she wants from now on.
John Breaux is a closet liberal!

OK, then... BOYCOTT SUGAR!! ;-)We've stuck to the Atkins diet for quite some time anyway. Lowers colesterol, and no sugar allowed. (Well, very little. We just use honey from our bees.)
To: proust
A lot of the credit should go to the dumb ass governor who has a personal grudge against Terrell. PS, this governor is a consistant liar--while at least Edwards, the crook, would tell the truth.
To: Holden Magroin
Also O'Neill was an underling in the administration of the beloved JFK. You know how the Bushes "like the man" Kennedy. You are right, O'Neill was the "weakest link" in the Bush Cabinet from the start. However, I don't thik Colin Powell is a good secretary of state (and I know most on FreeRepublic would disagree with that comment).

Whoa. The daughter should have ran.

Here's your strategy-- keep black people from voting. No Republican is going to win there any time soon as long as they have the right to vote.
The GOP needs to come up with a way to get black voters. It's pitiful.

BOYCOTT LOUISIANA!! I agree, i'm traveling from Arizona to Georgia over Christmas, I won't be stopping on Orleans as we planned.

Perhaps, Suzie Terrell can use this experience to run for LA governor next year. The 'RATS have plenty of candidates ready to run. The LA GOP has no serious candidate looking into this race. Hopefully next year, Suzie Terrell will be moving into the governor's mansion.

Louisiana is the most heavily Democratic state in the nation, the only one that has never elected a Republican senator (reconstruction doesn't count.) Looking at this realistically, it would have been a miracle had Terrell been the one to break that streak. People keep pointing to Bush's high approval rating in LA -- well Clinton had one there too -- seems they just support WHOEVER is in power at the time, which is why these Dem dynasties continue to run the state. It is not like the rest of the south -- sort of like what New Hampshire is to New England.

"My Terrell consultant friends tell me their polls dropped all day Friday after the O'Neill news. Bush's numbers on the economy fell more than 15 POINTS in LA. It totally magnified the unemployment number."
If true, this tells me that the Dems seized the Bush administration announcement as BAD news, painted the gloom and doom picture, shouted it all damed day and scared the beejeebers out of everyone. Evidently the Republicans were pathetically unprepared and blew it.
My apologies to laconic. I'll never comprehend folks who don't know who they're voting for until the last minute. I guess that's why I could never be a democRAT.
To: VRWC_minion
It is a big night for Rats. However, they may end up thinking their move to the left is what helped them. I hope so. Landrieu didn't move to the left...she moved to the right and ran on her great record of support for Bush.
She avoided all the big Dem names including Clinton and told them to stay away.
This is NOT a big night for the Rats...it's an insult in disguise.
