WASHINGTON (AP) - In the eyes of much of the world, this is America: an inconsiderate lone wolf that has really good entertainment but really bad values, that wants war with Iraq just to get oil but still should remain as the only superpower on Earth.
In a broad international survey released Wednesday, the Pew Global Attitudes Project found that the United States is falling out of favor in 19 of 27 countries where a trend could be identified.
The dislike was especially striking in Muslim countries. Seventy-five percent of those surveyed in Jordan had an unfavorable opinion of America, as did 69 percent of Egyptians and Pakistanis and 59 percent of Lebanese. In Egypt, Jordan, Indonesia, Senegal, Turkey and Lebanon, the vast majority said they oppose the U.S.-led war on terrorism.
But ill will toward the United States was also found in supposedly friendly nations like Canada, Britain and Germany.

You know what? I don't really care what they think, anymore. If you don't like America, then stop coming here. And if you are here and don't like it, leave. Please. And that includes you even if you were born here. All the feminazis, envirowhackos, etc., have my permission to move to some third world hole.

And I though U.S. pollsters were annoying.

A real good reason for missile defense, homeland security, and background checks (at applicant's expense) for any visas issued.

I couldn't agree more. I'm fed up with this BS.
MESSAGE TO THE WORLD: I could not possibly care less what you think.
This reminds me of a conversation with my wife's cousin. He's from Italy. We discussed politics and international relationships over dinner and a bottle of cognac. It was very interesting to get the European perspective.
Let it be known that he is not a socialist, loves the US, and wants to stay here. But when the conversation turned to our respective countries alone, he asked what Americans thought of Italy. He wasn't too thrilled when I answered him honestly that we don't.

A generally favorable view of America is held in 35 of the 42 countries that took part in the survey. Strange how AP came to the headline.

Envy. Just like poor people who hate rich people. Now of course I do hate the government.

Strange how AP came to the headline
The so called "Associated Press" just can't seem to figure that we are the only country in the world making headway against the terrorists. Europe would give Isreal and Africa to the terrorists for appeasement. China stands by and gives missles to Islamic countries. Canada calls our president an "Idiot". Japan is upset with us not surrendering our economy to the kyoto treaty.
Hmmm... The world is self absorbed and we are the only ones with the guts to take on the global terrorists. Poor AP, somehow I don't think the world will come up with anything better than this "Last Bastion of Freedom". Poor AP, with every act of the terrorist, they become more irrelevant.

well, we seem to be doin just fine. those countries still have imigrants coming over here for opportunity. maybe the reason these countries have large percentages of people who hate us is because the ones that are productive came over here from there, a rotting hole in the ground.

Yet...another reason to emphasize a foreign policy of non-interventionism and home defense defense. We are wasting resources in futile effort at Wilsonian social engineering in the Middle East and elsewhere.
