PARIS A part of the neoconservative intelligentsia in Washington is trying to turn the Bush administration's "war against terrorism" into a war against Muslim civilization and the Islamic religion.
Such influential figures as Eliot Cohen of the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies and Kenneth Adelman of the Defense Department advisory policy board, a former Reagan administration official, criticize President George W. Bush for his efforts to assure Muslims that his war is against terrorism, not against their religion.

If you harbor a terrorist, support a terrorist, raise money and finance a terrorist, you're a terrorist. If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, its a duck. Paeceful religion? Yeah right.

Let's ask a few questions here:
1. Do the middle-eastern people teach hatred in their newspapers?
2. Do the middle-eastern people teach hatred in their television programming?
3. Do the middle-eastern people teach hatred in their schools?
4. Do the middle-eastern people teach hatred in their mosks?
5. Do the middle-eastern people teach hatred in their streets?
6. Do the middle-eastern people teach hatred in terrorist camps?
7. Do the middle-eastern people teach hatred in their homes?
8. Is this hatred leveled at Israel and the United States as well as western culture as a whole?
I don't know the answers to all these questions. I have my suspicions. If their society is as permiated with hatred as I suspect, then we would be the suckers of the ages not to consider all middle-eastern people to be highly suspect until proven otherwise. I do not think all middle-easterners hate western culture, Israel and the United States. Until we are sure who does and who doesn't, we need to take prudent steps to safeguard our people, homes, businesses, government and public places. Their society is simply too rampant with violent teachings to ignore it in total.

Islam is the enemy. Not so much every Muslim, but their religion is the reason they hate Christians, and Jews.

Islam is their reason for the above.

To think otherwise is totalitarian thinking. It is the equivalent of racist thinking. The enemy is an enemy not because of what he or she does but because of what he or she is. The Muslim is the enemy - man, woman and child - because of his or her cultural and religious identification. Isn't nationality simply a political-cultural identification?

In other news, Tom Daschle asks Rush Limbaugh to stop calling him an obstructionist.

This author is really amazing, he just dances around and around trying to put the west to blame for all of the evils being thrown into our faces.
If it is not a war of religion, than why does the koran make it so? What other holy book preaches the death of all who are not of the faith? What other faith justifies the deaths of innocents by using the words of a long dead prophet?
If it is not a war against their religion, then the ones who are not the fanatics and fundementalists should step forward and help bring it to and end. If you are not with us, youare against us.

"The enemy is an enemy not because of what he or she does but because of what he or she is."
Excuse me, but being a Muslim is an action not a natural state of existence. You can't choose to be white, black or some other genetic makeup BUT you can choose, and are responsible for, what ideological group you associate yourself with.
You aren't born a Nazi anymore than you're born a Muslim or Christian. It is a choice you make as you progress through life.
What ideological group you choose to associate with has much to do with whether or not you represent a threat to others not in your group due to your own professed ideology.

ISLAM IS THE ENEMY
WINSTON CHURCHILL
NEW ISLAM IS A FAKE RELIGION OF DEATH!
"Churchill despised the (ISLAM) Pathans, calling them 'Stone Age savages whose daily deeds are treachery and violence'. He dismissed Islam as a 'miserable superstition propagated by the sword', the founding principle of which was an 'incentive to slaughter'. The village mosque, he deemed a 'consecrated hovel'. He hated the Pathan lifestyle, saying they lived in 'fortified slums, amid dirt and ignorance, as degraded a race as any on the fringe of humanity; fierce as the tiger, but less cleanly.'
Even Pathan women came in for a journalistic beating from the future Prime Minister. 'Their wives,' he wrote, 'have no position but that of animals. They are too filthy to handle and too noisome to approach.' He called the local Pathan patriots who had risen in defence of, what he called, 'their pestilential land', 'ignorant, depraved, squalid, athletic savages'. He wrote that 'extermination of the inhabitants' of the Frontier was necessary because of the 'perpetual inheritance of our race'."

i totally agree that muslims should be regarded with polite suspicion and rendered harmless whenever the suspicion proves to be grounded
you must also agree that, for every bigoted post that may spring up in this thread (as has become increasingly frequent here lately), there are millions of muslims with more goodwill toward america than the bigots have toward them
i'm suspicious of them both and hope they both can be saved

1)I do not find it strange that Pfaff(a German sounding name) would have to take of Adelman and Cohen(obviously Jews) three times in one article. What is this guy out to prove?
2)Islam is the enemy because it is. Islamists crash planes into buildings, fire bomb train compartments and blow up nightclubs. If these cannot convince Pfaff then he is what I have implied to in 1).

I wish it were so easy as to say "no more islamic governments" in the world. First off, we'll never declare that. And even if we did, it wouldn't solve the problem of islam.
We're at the cusp of serious war now.. Possibly WW3. It's us or the islamics.
