A day in the life of President Bush (photos): 12/4/02

Another busy day for President Bush today as he signed a few new bills and hosted the lighting of the White House Menorah. The President signed the 'Anton's Law' which requires shoulder belts in addition to lap straps in the middle rear seats of vehicles. Bush also signed the Dot Kids Implementation and Efficiency Act, which creates a new kids-safe 'dot-kids' domain on the Internet that would contain only material appropriate for children under 13. After signing the bill, he took questions from the media, and once again stated that he is not optimistic regarding the inspections in Iraq. Meanwhile, First Lady Laura hosted Afghani teachers as they learn to become master teachers, who will eventually be responsible for training teachers back in their home country. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

In the first pic George W. Bush seems to be showing how much this struggle has taken a toll on him.

I can't think him enough for his leadership in these troubled times

The 4th pic down in post 17 -- where President Bush is reaching to shake hands with the girl in the black sweater, the look on her mom's face (I'm assuming it is her mom) is simply precious -- looks like she is about to burst with happiness and pride

Is that Teddy Roosevelt as a Rough Rider behind the President? If so, they must have dug it up out of a basement closet after clinton finished rearranging the furniture. Somehow I don't see that painting as a background for any recent Democrat.

I just came from a thread whaere a PJB fan was referring President Bush as a frat-boy, puppet, know-nothing, yada, yada.

I so much appreciate your comment about the President. I think there are many who don't realize that serving was a sacrifice, both for him and his family, and for Vice President Cheney as well. I appreciate them, too, and thank God we were given good leadership in these troubled times.

"Somehow I don't see that painting as a background for any recent Democrat."{

The painting of choice for the Democrats today is Jane Fonda on tour in Vietnam

Yes, that sure is TR: another of my favorite presidents! It seems to me that there is a tradition among administrations that when a Republican is occupying the White House, this one is displayed, and when "those other people" are in residence, FDR's portrait goes up.

Thanks for the great photos, rintense!

RWP, did you alter his eye color again?

Seriously, since there is the debate on his eyecolor, here is a thought: maybe he is green-eyed, and in certain situations (and including background colors and other times) his eye color turns blue.
(DH is like this, and it is such a turn on.....)

This seems to be a cold blustery night for most of the country. What kinds of comfort things can you do on a cold night? Food, a book, and now the computer with DITL thread. A good evening well spent.
