Another busy day for President Bush today as he signed a few new bills and hosted the lighting of the White House Menorah. The President signed the 'Anton's Law' which requires shoulder belts in addition to lap straps in the middle rear seats of vehicles. Bush also signed the Dot Kids Implementation and Efficiency Act, which creates a new kids-safe 'dot-kids' domain on the Internet that would contain only material appropriate for children under 13. After signing the bill, he took questions from the media, and once again stated that he is not optimistic regarding the inspections in Iraq. Meanwhile, First Lady Laura hosted Afghani teachers as they learn to become master teachers, who will eventually be responsible for training teachers back in their home country. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

Yes, that is indeed the photo of Anton, a young girl who was killed in an auto crash and for who the bill is named.

Good morning, rintense.
Are they lighting the White House Christmas tree tonight?
To: azGOPgal
I'm not sure, but it makes sense with 12 days to go. Ari will announce the day's plans a bit later in the day.

Heads up!
20/20 is doing a special on George and Laura on December 13th!
To: rintense
I think you miss-counted a little. 20 more days to Christmas. You got my hopes up there for a second!
To: azGOPgal
You're right. I thought today was the 12th. My bad. Maybe I think it's later because I finished my Christmas shopping last night! WOO HOO! I usually don't finish until the last minute.

I always love it when they do interviews together.
Another heads up: Barbara Walters is asking viewers to e-mail questions to her and she will pick a couple of questions to ask the president and first lady.

The White House Christmas tree will be lit at 5pm EDT. It will be carried live on the White House website (and probably FOXNEWS)

Oh that's good, light it when those of us at work can't see it. Sometimes the scheduling of things really stinks.
Thanks for the heads up on it :)

Has anyone seen a pic of W with really dark eyes?In the famous picture where W has just been told that a second plane hit the WTC towers, his eyes look really dark to me.
