Students at the University of North Texas believe an albino squirrel spotted on campus brings good luck before exams, according to a Local 6 News report.
The tree-hugging albino squirrel keeps a low profile on campus but it has a lot of students talking.
There is a growing belief at the school that if you spot the creature on the way to a test, you'll come away with a good grade. And, there is photographic proof the white squirrel exists.
One student said she aced a test she didn't even study for after seeing the squirrel on the way to class.
The squirrel has caused such a stir that it's resulted in the creation of the "Albino Squirrel Preservation Society." The 100-person group is dedicated to promote the squirrel's existence.
Denton is located about 30 miles north of Dallas.

Big deal. Squirrels are endemic at Columbia. Kids feed them, take them at pets, etc.
There is a term for an albino squirrel: lunch. They have anti-camoflage.

They've got a a bunch in a remote part of North Carolina, protected of course. Wife & I were visiting and one ran out in front of us while driving. I missed it, but I quickly explained to the wife if I had hit it, it would have gone straight in the cooler for later taxidermy work.

I was talking in terms of natural predators.
As for Columbia food, it is pretty bad. (Although the Ratty at Brown is far worse. I actually went vergitarian for a summer there.)
I'm not quite sure whose idea it was to force students through semi-mandatory meal plans, to purchasee sub-par food, when better and cheaper food is available within a 5 block radius. I'm pretty sure the administrator was a Democrat hoping for a government job.
I know that some students have trained squirrels to do tricks like jump through hoops or onto their shoulders for food.
I, on the other hand, was utterly freaked when a squirrel simply jumped unto my backpack and expected me to give it my Snickers bar. I ended up dropping the candy anyway.
Not finishing the bar, may have been good for me, but the squirrel jumping on me did nothing good for my heart.

Donning my Rickles hat...drum roll please...I was talking in terms of natural predators.
Many would consider New Yorkers such.
Please tell me this is not a real college. It's a college for "special" students? Right?? Right???
For Texans.

Stick around here, you'll probably learn from some experts.

I used to see an albino squirrel when I lived in Minneapolis; I saw it on France Avenue near York. Cute little critter!

If it walks like a duck, looks like a duck, quacks like a duck...then it must taste like squirrel.
