It's a strange but true fact that Rush got out of serving in Vietnam because of (hold your hat), an anal cyst.

It's a strange but true fact that Rush got out of serving in Vietnam because of (hold your hat), an anal cyst. And you're point? I thought so.
As of late, there has been much made of "chickenhawks". If the guy had a medical reason that he could not serve, then that's that.
Heck, I heard someone at work going on about the "hawk" Rumsfeld. They were not complaining that he was a chickenhawk, just a hawk.
Where or where, was this sort of discussion when we were interjecting the US in any number of foreign entanglements in the 90's?
Believe me, even if each and every Republican had served during wartime or served in the military, the Dems would probably then ask "Well, did you serve in a Combat Arms branch?"

You shouldn't spend time at Bartcop. They are just rumor-mongers over there.
The condition from which Rush Limbaugh is said to suffer is called a "pilonidal cyst." These cysts occur over the tail bone, not in or on the anus. The tailbone (coccyx) is a vestigal structure and cysts related to hair follical above the tailbone are relatively common. About 250 out of 1,000,000 people suffer from pilonidal cysts. These cysts can become painfully tender and infected, and are cause to be classified 4-F by the military.
Limbaugh also has stated that injuries to his knees from high school football led to his not being selective service material.

Rush denied it.

Did the cyst go on to be a Democrat senator?

I've heard this over the years, but have never seen any sort of documentation. Rush claims this is not true. There were also stories that his father pulled strings to get him out of military service, but that was a radio gag Rush started in his early days of broadcasting. Even then he illustrated the absurd by being absurd.

This is not true. A caller to Rush's show today brought this up (he called it a boil on Rush's but) Rush denied it. It seems that this is a rumor that is being spread on the internet by the people who wish to discredit Rush.

>>>...an anal cyst.
When they become infected, they must be removed. It is a very expensive operation. The Army dosn't want to take anyone who will require an expensive operation because of the dollars.
My son had this operation when he was about 15. It is very expensive.
It would be like you buying a new car that needed a new engine. Why not buy one that did not need that expense.
There are plenty of guys that did not need that expense, that is why they give physicals when they are deciding who to take and who not to take.
It has nothing to do with whether somone is connected or worthy. It is wholly economic.
