"No more blood for oil. Wasn't that the mantra for Gulf War I? Wasn't it also the reason we were there? I know, I know, there's the window dressing about using the armed forces of the American Republic, who swore an oath to defend the Constitution of the United States, to restore a king on the other side of the globe to his throne because the evil dictator and erstwhile American ally to his northwest had decided to attack southeast instead of just east, but c'mon, does anyone really think we'd have been over there if there wasn't any oil? We manage to stay out of the dozens of 'aggressions' that occur in Africa, etc.

If it were truly about oil we'd have new wells in ANWR, off the coasts of Floriduh, Kalifornia, and half a dozen other places on US soil. LOTS cheaper by ANY measure than war...

We manage to stay out of the dozens of 'aggressions' that occur in Africa, etc.Last time I looked, there weren't any African nationals flying planes into buildings (like the terrorists) or rolling their tanks into other nations to take them over for THEIR oil (like Saddam in 1990).
