Last fall my Father , in Philadelphia, was just finished all of the preliminary testing that he needed to get his knee replaced, and the doctor came to see him with the reports.
The doctor said to him "I have good news and bad news. The good news is that you are in good shape and the knee replacement should be a breeze, the bad news is you will have to find someone else to do it."
When Dad asked why he was told that the Doctor had just got his bill for malpractice insurance, and was giving up practicing in PA, and moving to New Jersey, and Dad's insurance wouldn't cover him there.
My Father's best freind, also a surgeon, wouldn't help either. His Insurance premiums went to $175,000 a year, and he was just giving up his practice, and moving to Arizona with his son.
