Yes he is. He supported Bush for President in 2000 and has given money to the Republicans in the past.

I suspect the dead have already been awakened to vote in the French Quarter.

They are already going to do the 72-hour plan (I think I got this right) that they did during the general election. Reed won't be able to do much now, but it won't hurt.

They already are going to do the 72-hour plan. I presume they already got things prepped and Reed just shows up and gets things going.

While I agree with others that it is too late to organize an effective GOTV campaign, it certainly is not too late for Ralph to motivate the Christian Right to volunteer to work phone banks. Well manned phone banks are going to be pretty important. I can name at least 5 dozen people in my own community who would grab their coat & hat and head out to the nearest telemarketing site to assist with the cause if Ralph made a personal call with a plea for help.

Can someone with knowledge please describe the Absentee Ballot procedures in LA?

Cooksey's voters *will* turn out. Throughout his tenure in the House, Cooksey had strong backing from the pro-gun voters in his district. Those people will *not* be helping Landrieu win.

A lot of blacks are beginning to think that they need to make the Democratrs do things for them.....

Just curious, but what evidence do you have for this statement. Enquiring minds want to know.

Yes, but isn't Nagin pretty conservative?

Yeah as previously mentioned he donated to Bush and the Republicans before. A little bit of info, he was attacked in the mayoral race for being too conservative and was called "Ray Reagan." He still won handily.
