[history]
An Arizona man who received a "strange and mysterious" e-mail apologizing for the slaying of a Red Bluff cop launched investigators on the trail of an ex-Army private who was arrested four days later in New Hampshire.
Neil Wright, 50, said he had received an e-mail from "Mitch Stephens" at americanresistance@yahoo.com at about 6 p.m. Friday on his home computer in Lake Havasu City and called police an hour later.

I received this email just a few minutes ago:
Neil, my name is Chris Cole and I was Dave Mobilio's best friend and godfather to his son Luke. This is the first time I have been able to get on the net and view the letter written by McCrae.
I came across your website and read the timeline of the weekend.
Thank you so much for your great contribution to helping catch this coward.
My friends widowed wife, son, mother, father, sister and the rest of the family thank you too. I am very confident that this is the man we are looking for and someday will take pleasure seeing him executed but It still doesn't change the fact that my friend is dead and his son will never know his father.
Thanks again,
Chris Cole
Feel free to post this on your message board if you'd like.
Dear Chris,
Please accept my heartfelt condolances on the death of your friend. I am honored to have played some small part in the investigation that led to the apprehension of the nutball who murdered him. Please convey my condolances and respect to the family and friends of Officer Mobilio.
Very Respectfully,
Neil E. Wright

Good work! I am relieved to see the mention of "left wing", "anti-government" labels. I am also a little weary of all the problems leading back to western Washington.
Did you know that the nurse that was killed in lebanon was from Whatcom County, not far from Bellingham? Now we have this leftwing nut from Evergreen State College. I should remind you that Evergreen is the school who had Mumia speak at their graduation a few years ago. It seems that we have people from both sides of the terrorist camp in the front lines of the issue.

Why they called Mr. Wright a right wing activist, to be fair, they did call indymedai "left wing" at the same time. I was shocked that the Chron did this when I saw it. The direct conclusion from the article here was "right wing = good guy" and "left wing = bad guy."

Way to go, Neil! Great job!

"Why they called" should have been "While they called"
Maybe they meant "Wright Wing Activist" heh heh.
