Before heading to Crawford, Texas for the holiday, President Bush signed the 911-commission bill, which will allow an investigation into the 911 attacks, and help identify ways to avoid future attacks. Bush appointed Henry Kissinger commission chairman. The President joined First Lady Laura and their two daughters in Texas this evening. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

I believe this is a Thanksgiving where we can sit down with our families and truly be thankful. We have a wonderful President with amazing advisors who are doing everything to keep all of America safe. We also have a First Family that we can respect and admire. We have wonderful friends and family at home and here on the Dose that we can be thankful for. I know I will be counting my blessings this year. God Bless each and everyone of us, and keep our soldiers safe. Happy Thanksgiving!

A Smooth Fox Terrier has a bigger head (much like Barney's)
Rat Terrier's were famous for fox hunting. They're samll enough to fit in a pouch attached to a saddle. The Fox hunter would reach into his pauch and pull his "Rat Terrier" out and lower it into a Foxhole as it followed the Fox into its hole (Going to ground)
Our Rat Terrier is an extremely sweet dog whose only goal in life is to please :-)

Happy Thanksgiving to you and everyone else here. :)
I certainly echo your prayers and gratitude.
OK, how many other people here can say they've had the pleasure of meeting both these fine men? :)
I have to say that Dr. K is incredibly funny and outgoing. I met him at one of the last tapings of William F. Buckley's "Firing Line" TV show. It was in a small studio with an audience of maybe about 30 people. Before the taping, he (Dr. Kissinger) walked into the small studio and just started cracking jokes like some Borscht Belt comedian, and then suddenly walked right toward me, held out his hand for me to shake, thanked me for being there, chatted for a moment and then did the same with just about everyone else in the room. :)

A friend emailed me this prayer that was recited at her church this past Sunday. I really liked it because this is my favorite time of year. Best wishes to all of you this Thanksgiving and thanks for making the Dose such a nice place to come...
God of life and all living, we give you thanks on this November Sunday for the chilly, windy beauty of these late autumn days- for the leaf-lost trees and wet streets, for geese and birds vanishing south, for squirrels finishing their acorn gathering, for early dark and for the sober brown and gray of earth and sky and pond which remind us of pilgrim garb. We thank you for the warmth we find in family, friends, and church that sustains us now and in the winter months of our lives. We thank you for the harvest of good words we find in the Good News, the ingathering through forgiveness of all who confess their sins and the reconciliation of so many people. We than you for Jesus Christ who is our model, strength, redeemer, and friend, and in whose name we gather together to worship today.
Amen

Gracious, it is late here but wanted to check in before going to bed to wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving. When considering all my blessings tomorrow you all will be thought of. So many days I come here and am encouraged by the thoughts and ideas you express, your kindness and concern for others and your dedication to our President, his family and this country. God bless each of you...

Are those boots for real?? Are they really Dubya's?
To: rintense
Thanks for the ping, rintense. It'll take me awhile to catch up to everyone, so I'll say Happy Thanksgiving to all in case I miss anyone (or my computer freezes up again as it's been doing all evening)....
I love these pictures of W. and his doggies!

Boy, Barney is growing up into a georgeous dog.I did notice how big he is these days! When Dubya has his black overcoat on, it is hard to see Barney unless you can see his eyes!

NEVER FORGET!!!!!I was thinking about Elian when I read about the 13 yr old boy from Cuba who's being held in FL. His father made it off the boat, but the boy did not before the Coasties caught up with them, so his status is murky right now. Apparently the 13 yr old's mother was left behind in Cuba and he came here with his father. It will be interesting to see how this one is handled. Will they say that the 13 yr old has the right to make the decision to stay for himself?
Thanks for reminding us, Luis! Have a very Happy Thanksgiving!

Me and my beloved Mr.B would like to wish all a very Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours..
I want to thank Rintense for all she does, and to thank you all for making me so welcome way back in June..you are all so wonderful, thanks again.
I have been battling some health problems, and sometimes just lurk and do not post much, but I ALWAYS come here everyday and you all always make me smile..
Your support and exuberance for Mr Bs winning his election meant so very much to us..
Again, much love and many thanks

The house smells like pumpkin right now, and the ground is covered with snow. It should be a good day tomorrow!I'd say that was a lovely MENTAL picture, but I've got one of my own here! I've been baking today and we had 4-6 inches of snow. It was lovely being in the warm kitchen watching the snow fall.
God Bless you and your family. It will be good for you all to be together!

Hi Mtngrl! What a nice verse. God Bless you and have a joyous Thanksgiving :)President Bush is looking so great & happy today. Did you happen to hear Rush today playing the "Gravitas" montage from our "unbiased" liberal media? Too funny. Anyway, there's no question the President has it NOW! LOL
