Inasmuch as liberals are demanding that Americans ritualistically proclaim, "Islam is a religion of peace," Muslims might do their part by not killing people all the time.

AAAAAAHHHHHH! Ann is in fine form once again, is she not? I say, is she not? That woman's writing gives me good goosebumps!

Today on AM1500 Ron Rosenbaum and the boys on the morning spin talked about this. Call after call talked about how this IS what Islam is all about... and Ron just couldn't seem to buy it... wondering why moderate Muslims in this country don't speak out against this insanity. BECAUSE they KNOW it's what Islam is all about.

Could it be that Muhammed Ali is Muslim and didn't kill 3000 people during his life that shows the differences in Muslim belief.

Interesting that you bring up the name of a man who made that name famous by beating people up. No, its not the same as the 9/11 hijackers or the Washington DC shooter, but its noteworthy that Ali did not get his fame by being a Nobel prize winner.

Having a large Muslim population is like living with a mean drunk. For days, for weeks even, things go quietly. Then something happens to trigger one of his violent rages. So everyone tiptoes around him and bends over backwards to avoid setting him off.

Good analogy. But I think it's more like Dial M for Murder.

Could be. Maybe he's converted away from Islam?

It does strike me as playing with matches. (no pun intended)

(On the bright side, at least this means the Times is holding the gun innocent in this one instance.)
Oh, this caught me off guard at the end of the article and now I'm uncontrollably ROTFLMBO!

Why would they blow up the NYTimes? That would take away one of their prime channels for their propaganda!

I like your "mean drunk" analogy. Fortunately the U.S. has the ways and means to respond to rampages. We need to demonstrate that to more people.

He was a Boxer and an entertainer. It was his job. Or did you miss that ;) The antics between Ali, Frazier and Howard Cosell for better or worse, put a lot of sunlight on Boxing in america and Popularized the sport beyond what it ever had been. Wrestlers today follow much the same strategies that Ali used. It's just so old now that nobody pays it much attention. He was brilliant at marketing his job. But most of what I have read says he was pretty much a teddy bear behind the scenes - though it hasn't been my lifes work to study him. Anyone else wish to throw any light on this?

Nah he just beat them up and thought he was God's gift to the earth.

Regardless of the sects involved, they HAVE to stand up and condemn this, but they don't because they FEAR the repercussions. If they fear the repercussions now, what happens when orthodox Islam puts the pressure on to conform? Methinks many of them *will* conform rather than face their fear. It's human nature. If they turn their back on their "church" they feel they risk eternal hellfire. Conforming is far better in comparison.

Besides, being killed in Jihad is a guarantee of paradise.
