For once, someone who speaks reasonably besides Ann. Thank you. And I do agree. Many are afraid. The parallels here are not too far off medeival Catholic treatment of Christian sects that spoke out against Catholicism. There was a level of fear among some who would not speak out - those that did were wiped out ruthlessly. I think the Muslims in this case just need the moral support from others to allow them to stand up and condemn it without fear of retalliation or the ability to defend themselves.
It isn't much different than the ideological war going on here between conservatives and liberals. Thank god only words are being exchanged here.

I cannot understand how someone living in the US could after all the acceptance we give them, turn against us and side with Orthodox Islam, but like I said, probably some will, if it comes to that.

The liberals are after the 2nd amendment, so that when they DO try to rob us of our freedoms there is nothing to fight back with. They will have all the guns and will not be afraid to use them to their own ends. I have been beat up on another thread today for daring to condemn a number of people who were openly demonizing every living muslim on the planet as evil hateful people who want to "rape my wife and kill me"(or vice versa. Rather tough since I'm single. Seems they are clueless that there are actually peaceful sects of that religion who reject the violent themes. But then they think Catholicism, Lutheranism and Christianity are all the same religion too.

I've been called bigoted by people losing arguments any number of times because they couldn't fight facts and had to resort to name calling. And that's offensive to me. But seeing people act openly out of prejudice and attacking those who would take them to task on it is equally offensive. There is just no sense in it and no defense for it. I vehemently disagree with Catholicism; but, I'll just as vehemently defend a person's right to be Catholic. To me it's no different than standing up to the KKK on behalf of my Black friends. I don't do it because it's vogue, I do it because it's right. And this stuff shouldn't happen among conservatives. No way.

Could it be that Muhammed Ali is Muslim and didn't kill 3000 people during his life that shows the differences in Muslim belief..

Also he started out as a Christian and probably has some left over influence from that.

Yech. Soaps to me are worse than listening to fingernails dancing accross slate. Just goes straight to the spine and the shoulders come up to the ears and I'm done. If the channel doesn't change quickly, there's a good chance that set may not survive LOL. Ok, maybe not quite that bad, I'd never hurt the tv. It's good to me. It brings me FOX and CBN. I can understand thatsentiment though, if those Muslims are unwilling to say anything. I would not be willing to very much trust a 'liberal Muslim' until he is brave enough to stand up for what's right. That is not to say I cannot treat them with love and respect at the same time, until such time as he makes a stand one way or another.

The thing is, with Islam, Muslims can lie all they want to an infidel, in order to gain the upper hand. This will always raise red flags in my mind until their actions convince me otherwise.
