As much as it pains me to say anything good about the American Criminal Liberties Union, it seems like they're good for something after all.

Anyone who will fight the abominable USA Patriot Act or the not to be sufficiently damned Homeland Security Act, can't be all bad.

The Republicans voted in mass, for the two most vicious attacks on the Constitution in history and now, we must depend on the ACLU to defend us.  What's wrong with this picture?  It's enough to make a conservative sick.

Of course, the Homeland Security Act explicitly BANS the creation of a National ID Card.

No wonder you hate that Act so much...

Ron Paul was on Rush Today (Guest Host:Walter Williams). He related that NOT ONE member of the house read the 400+ pages of the HSA before they voted on it. The HSA was not even printed at the time the vote was taken, and was only put up on the House website two hours before the vote.

Not only that, it would have been impossible for even a speed-reader to decipher, since it referred to chapters in various codes, like "Modify the third sentence in subparagraph a(1) and replace with "not"...etc.

I call this criminal negligence on the part of Congress.
