Creative Loafing is a great rag for adolescents looking for a bar band, or for gays looking for a hook up, or for perverts looking for the latest sex club. As to their capacity to construct a logical analysis of the voters intent with regard to Nov. 5 ... forget it. Their writers are so far to the left that Mao would ask them to tone it down. The Georgia flag was not a consideration in this Georgians decision on Nov 5., nor was it for anyone that I know.
But, the article is dismissive of all them dumb pickup drivin' red neck crackers from the South, so naturally, Wlat loves it.

You say this like it was a bad thing.
The truth is that the majority has at last gotten off of their front porch rocking chairs and SPOKEN.
What you can't seen to deal with is MAJORITY RULE.

To their credit, Democrats didn't play the race card during the electionOh sure. This whole article is a libelous smear on white southerners, and the moron who wrote it has the chutzpah to say this? I'm just sure David Scott and Denise Majette would have been elected on their sterling credentials if they were white. What a joke.
But that's OK Walt baby, I think everyone here has learned just how much you hate southerners, hate the south and hate those people who want to be free to associate with whom they wish and not have the government plunder the fruit of their labors and squander the loot on it's racial favorites.
Every time you post some type of garbage like this your credibility drops further into the negative zone. I can't understand why you don't move to NYC or Boston. There are a lot more liberals there who think just like you do, and I'm sure you'd feel a lot more comfortable. You could spew forth your hate of all things southern to people who appreciate it.

"The slave power threw down Old Glory to protect slavery"
Just like you should throw down Creative Loafing before you get any more wild ideas.

What an incredibly hateful, racist piece.
Black or white (especially if he's white), this ignorant fool needs his ass kicked.
To: WhiskeyPapa
The writer of this tripe really needs to lay off of the moonshine.

Why would you post such an insulting article in this forum?
I'm guessing your intent was to post this story as "humor" as it certainly does not qualify as "news".
"Creative Loafing" is one of those free news-papers that are stacked on the street corners in Atlanta to provide an outlet for the social underground (gays, lesbians, strip clubs, tatoo parlors, massage parlors, personal ads, etc.). It is hardly regarded as a credible source of news. Those who pick up a copy, don't read the "editorials". (It would be about like someone buying "Playboy Magazine" for the great stories inside.)
There were many many complex issues that led to the overthrow of (democrat) Roy Barnes. To claim that "the flag issue" was the ONLY issue that led to this is a gross mistatement. To deny that "the flag issue" was AN issue is equally untrue. Georgian's did NOT kick out the Democratic Party, they kicked out Roy Barnes. Many democrats were elected by these same people that you often refer to as "racist rednecks". The situation was like a rare planetary alignment. After 130 years, Georgia has a republican governor. The question in my mind is, "How long will they keep one?"
We know where you stand on this, Walt. It is not necessary that you continually remind us.

As a proud adopted Son of the South, I'm a Yankee by birth but not by philosophy. I have lived in the wonderful South for almost 20 years now and have learned enough to know you are full of enough ethnocentric crap to stuff your fat behind plus all the other "turkeys" in Yankeedom.
KEEP THE SOUTH BEAUTIFUL!

"I'd foolishly believed for most of my life that those days of racist politics in Georgia were long gone." And then came the racist attack against the Confederate Flag and the author found out that racist attacks against the flag were just not acceptable, did he learn that lesson? Doesn't seem so.
To: WhiskeyPapa
The Dems are so looking for a reason they lost the election. I guess the flag is just as good of an excuse as anything.
That is just one of the many excuses I have heard since Nov 5th..

Perdue's victory came from an overwhelmingly rural base. Eight percent of Perdue's votes came from a single county: Gwinnett. It is a suburb of Atlanta, not a rural county. If I recall correctly, its residents have the highest educational level and income level of any county in the state.
Apparetly the writer thinks anyplace other than downtown Atlanta, Macon, or Savannah is a"rural" area.

Written by another black racist?
Ever notice how a black racist calls white people with gun, "rednecks", but if you call a black with a gun, "gangbanger", they cry foul? Try calling a black with a gun a "redneck" and watch the fun. The black guy really does turn red with anger.
To: WhiskeyPapa
I heard somewhere that the top Dem in the Ga. State House was pro-abort because he thought it was keeping down the black population. Can anyone confirm?
