A Washington apartment belonging to the wife of the Saudi ambassador to the United States has been linked to a Saudi citizen who later lived with members of a terrorist cell related to al Qaeda, an attorney for victims of the September 11 attacks said yesterday.

Michael Isacoff from Newsweek was just interviewed on Fox & Friends. He said that the two guys that the Princess gave money to were back in Saudi Arabia.

One fled a year ago and the other was deported last month. They are not in the hands of US officials.

A couple of observations about the "Kingdom of the 2 Holy Mosques".

It is really an artificial creation along with the rest of the Arab States after the collapse of the Ottoman Empire and the intervention of the British and French at the end of WWI.

There is really only one province in SA that is the least bit interesting. That is the Eastern Province. That is where the petroleum is. From a Western perspective, you would just want a stable government over the Eastern Province and the pipeline going to Jeddah. The House of Saud is from the Nejd or Riyadh. Maybe after dealing with Mr. Hussein we can tell the Saudis, they can keep Mecca, Medina and Nejd and in the rest of the country - well go pound sand.

Shortly after 9/11, it was discovered that certain people had purchased unusually large numbers of "put options" (essentially bets that the stock will go down) in certain airlines, Boeing, insurance companies, and other industries that would be hit by 9/11, with these purchases occurring a few days before 9/11

There was a lot of talk about this for a few days, but then the story "went down the memory hole". It is my opinion that the activity was traced to people who could not be touched -- ie members of the Saudi royal family knew about 9/11 ahead of time, and decided to make some profit

I agree that the Dems have a potential tool to use against the Bushes. The Bush family dealings with the movers and shakers in Saudi Arabia go back 40 years. Of course, being in the oil business, one has to deal with Saudi Arabia. It seems that the Bushes have built a special relation with Prince Bandar.

From last April's Saudi visit: On Tuesday President Bush's father had lunch with the Saudi foreign minister, Saud al-Faisal, and the kingdom's longtime ambassador to Washington, Prince Bandar bin Sultan. Their specific message could not be learned, but in the familial setting, where Barbara Bush was also the hostess for Princess Haifa, Prince Bandar's wife, the strong strategic and personal ties of the Persian Gulf war that characterized Saudi-American relations a decade ago was a message in itself.

Saudi to Warn Bush of Rupture Over Israel Policy

Prince Bandar was on the few outsiders invited to Barbara Bush's birthday party this year. We all have read of the numerous connections between Saudi authorities and Bush owned or directed companies like the Carlyle Group, Harken Oil, etc. We have read of George Bush Sr.'s visits to Saudi Arabia after leaving office. Neil Bush was in Saudi arabia earlier this year helping them get their PR machine cranking.

Neil Bush says Arab P.R. machine not as good as Israel's

I guess that I would like to see the President head this thing off by admiting that his family has deep ties to Saudi Arabia, good friends in the country, and that he will help them in every way to weed out terrorist cells within Saudi Arabia. My fear is that if he does not acknowledge the Bush family ties, the Democrats will use all of this to attack his overall goals.

In their twisted logic, Democrats will say that the Bushes are indirectly guilty of financing Saudi terrorists through their business dealings with Saudi Arabia. Just as Bandar's wife likely gave money innocently to a woman who then gave it to terrorists, the Democrats will try to show that Bush money changed hands through legitimate business deals but got passed through numerous hands until the terrorists had that cash in the end.

. without it, there isn't much of a case to prove she knew this friend would turn the check over to someone else

Like the guys in the movie "Office Space," I may not know what money laundering is, but if I was going to launder money, I'd think this is the kind of thing I'd do.

Sue the Saudis. Get a judgment. Then seize their evil blood money. The Saudis are responsible. They must pay. Now they are crying because they have to give up some of their blood money ....

If these spoiled 'little Princes' have any investments in the US, I say seize their assets. Arrogant racist 'Princes' are subject ultimately to the law ... let their santic deity save them.

Unfortunately they have major control of American banks and institutions.

Sunday August 4, 2002 The (London)Observer

While (Warren) Buffett cleared out of Citigroup, Saudi Arabia's Prince Alwaleed has invested heavily in it in recent months, becoming the largest single investor in what is the world's biggest financial group culminating in a $500m bet last month. Citigroup stock has been on a slide but market insiders say if it doesn't recover the whole financial system will fail.

The prince bet on the long term, having originally sunk significant cash in Citibank 10 years ago, which has sustained other losses in his portfolio.

He is reputed to be based in a Bedouin tent complex surrounded by satellite dishes and illuminated by arc lights in the desert close to Riyadh. From there the widely repeated rumour is that he acts as an investment front for the senior members of the Saudi royal family.

They may be disappointed at some of Prince Alwaleed's decisions. For instance, the Saudi Royal, 45, is reported to have invested $2bn in AOL Time Warner; Priceline, the quirky travel agency; and German media group Kirch, all of which have suffered in recent months.

Full Story: The prophets of profit

The Saudis could basically sink our economy much as the Japanese could have 15 years ago.

Unfortunately they have major control of American banks and institutions.

They can influence, but not control, I think. Two billion is not enough for them to swing that much clout, seems to me. They have their own problems too: declining revenues and an increasingly bitter population of people under 30.

My guess is that they're running scared, playing it day to day. The snakes have been in their house much longer than in ours.

I don't feel sorry for them; I just don't find them as threatening in their intentions. What they don't intend is another matter, though.

Mainstream America has been expressing outrage at the Saudis for their connection to 9/11 and funding of Pali terrorists for a long time...it's about time our elected representatives got in line with the people.

"Bush is friends with these people."

No, he isn't. He's fighting those people with every tool at his disposal short of creating an international crisis which would allow the governments of terrorist-appeasing nations to bail out of their promise to cooperate with us in the war on terror.

They must be afraid these oppressed people will then have the tools - like MONEY and diplomatic power - to go for revenge.

"Commercial interests survive longer than strategic interests. When countries do business together, they stay together."

I got a few veterans of all countries worldwide intent on ending wars that would not think so. The Veteran international will have to defeat the socialist and the commercial international that do not submit. Commerce is a priviledge, not a right. Being a veteran defending home and family is a right.
