Mexico to campaign to legalize workers

11/23/02

MEXICO CITY -- Mexico's foreign minister, Jorge Castaneda, said his country would begin a "bottom-up campaign" to win U.S. public support for a proposal to legalize 3.5 million undocumented Mexican workers in the United States.

Castaneda said Mexican officials will begin rallying unions, churches, universities and Mexican communities.

"What's important is that American society sees a possible migratory agreement in a positive light," Castaneda said. "We are already giving instructions to our consulates that they begin propagating militant activities -- if you will -- in their communities."

That just about tells it all. Vile, despicable leeches. the problem seems to be that this isn't being stopped by our own government. Is Saddam a distraction? Maybe.

If I ever had the honor to be President, it would not be to address and pander the immigration issue to blowhards(i.e evil Mexicans are behind every door) like you.

Lol. Thanks for the comic relief, Dane I appreciate that really. Now, let's try again, hopefully without the kind of emotionalism you might see at DU.

1.) What would President Dane do with all the illegal aliens in the country that are here? Deport? Amnesty? Look the other way?

2.) What would President Dane do about the bleeding border? Close it, open it up even more, or leave it like it is?

3.) What would President Dane do to employers knowingly hiring illegals? Prosecute them? Pat them on the heads and tell them "good boys"?

President PRND21 told me HE would enforce the law. I would expect at least as much out of you givin' your strong law and order stance against drugs for example (and one I agree with btw).

I don't know where you live, but where I live, without the Hispanics (primarily Mexicans) we wouldn't have anyone to clean houses or office buildings, mow lawns, clean up construction sites, etc. And the farms wouldn't have seasonal workers.
Who do you propose for these jobs? Native born Americans won't take them.

I do think there should be a guest worker program so that the people who do this work are legally here, and tracked. But we do need these people.

You forgot something: at the wages offered to illegal aliens.

What would you do about the anchor baby problem?

But we do need these people.

Prove it. So far you haven't. These moochers are costing taxpayers billions each year, and are on the verge of causing a major spate of civil unrest.

"Well, I know that President Bush said that the long term startegy was to create a climate in Mexico where people can find jobs instead of coming here. But just how does Fox feel about that? Seems to me if he supported it, he would already be doing something about it."

Only about 10 percent of Mexico and central America are considered white the rest are mestizos or hispanic indians. This all smacks of ethnic cleansing to me.

Whew, you just allied yourself with the socialist Canadian, who called Bush a "moron".

I believe in freedom of speech, pal, even if I don't agree with what's being spoken. How about you?

What's important is that American society sees a possible migratory agreement in a positive light," Castaneda said.

It's one thing if WE decide we need a temporary worker program and WE say who can and who cannot get into it. One thing too ---the more the Mexican government sticks it's nose into this issue, the more American society sees it all in a negative light. Keep talking Castaneda.

In Los Angeles, most of the fast food workers are Hispanic. Go to a smaller town (say, up 395, or SLO area, etc.) and many of the workers are, gasp!, white. Go to South Central, and many are, gasp!, black. Just because many of these jobs are currently worked by illegals doesn't mean that they wouldn't be taken by citizens if there weren't enough illegals.

It's very certain not one of the 11 illegals locked in that train car in Mexico who died in Iowa were whites. Virtually all the illegals dying coming through the desert also aren't white. Not 10% even.

I've traveled to places where many of the cleaning ladies and janitors were black (and white too). I don't know why so many claim blacks won't do this kind of work becaue to me it seems they will.

It doesnt matter where you live. If illegals are there they can take wages that are unacceptable to citizens who have to work legally and live within our society. Where there are not illegals all the jobs you mentioned are being done regardless.

I'm sure that a leftist such as yourself is quite happy with Bush's policies.

And I am quite sure that a reationary such as yourself is quite happy with being the "King" of the "all Mexicans are evil clique" on FR.

Pat Buchanan and Tom Tancredo are quaking in their boots over your mastery of hyperbole.(/sarcasm).
