Mexico to campaign to legalize workers
11/23/02
MEXICO CITY -- Mexico's foreign minister, Jorge Castaneda, said his country would begin a "bottom-up campaign" to win U.S. public support for a proposal to legalize 3.5 million undocumented Mexican workers in the United States.
Castaneda said Mexican officials will begin rallying unions, churches, universities and Mexican communities.
"What's important is that American society sees a possible migratory agreement in a positive light," Castaneda said. "We are already giving instructions to our consulates that they begin propagating militant activities -- if you will -- in their communities."

"Militant activities?" Is this crummy little Marxist pig issuing a threat?

A 'beware of the threatening pissant Mexican Marxist' ping!

This is bullsh!t. Instead of campaigning for them to become legal here, why not create a job environment in Mexico to entice them back- and keep them there.
I want to see more militia action along the borders.

Yup.......sure looks like a threat to me. The nerve of them!

IMO, they can have SoCal, but stay the hell away from NoCal.

Armed militia along the border if the U.S. Govt. fails to act. Shoot to kill. These are invaders.

We are already giving instructions to our consulates that they begin propagating militant activities Any consular employee who engages in such activities must be declared persona non gratia and the consulate must be shuttered.

Am I missing something here? First NAFTA ends up taking away millions of American jobs and sends them to countries like..... Mexico?! Now Mexico ALSO wants to expand our population to take away even MORE jobs.
Also strange: they have money to actively "campaign" for this outcome, yet they have no money with which to entice their own citizens to live in their own country.
Finally, what do they plan to give America in return?

Exactly. It is about time for Mexico to get her house in order.
Of course if that ever happened peoples of certain politcal persuasions(far right in America, far left in Mexico) on both sides of the border would suddenly find themselves unemployed.

The "BIRD"!!

I have a weird feeling that the current illegals will become a barganing chip in determining how much border security will be enacted- if any.
One, I just think it is plain wrong to reward illegal activity with amnesty. Two, I'm tired of paying for illegal's healthcare with my premiums.

That scumbag Castaneda is a real problem, as is Fox. Of course Bush's buddy Garza is down there talking about an amnesty. Do we have a problem or what?
To: Dane
Well, I know that President Bush said that the long term startegy was to create a climate in Mexico where people can find jobs instead of coming here. But just how does Fox feel about that? Seems to me if he supported it, he would already be doing something about it.

I'm more concerned with 'outside' influence in Mexico, meaning radical Islamists. I don't trust Fox AT ALL and think he'll do anything that will benefit his country- even if it is a threat to the US.

"We are already giving instructions to our consulates that they begin propagating militant activities -- if you will -- in their communities." He seems to think once the Mexican consulate is established, it becomes "their" communities. They believe they already possess much of the USA.

It is bullshit. This is an admission by the Mexican gov't that they are forcing the migration of poor mexicans to the US so they can influence our government. This is an invasion. The bombing should start immediately.

I don't know where you live, but where I live, without the Hispanics (primarily Mexicans) we wouldn't have anyone to clean houses or office buildings, mow lawns, clean up construction sites, etc. And the farms wouldn't have seasonal workers.
Who do you propose for these jobs? Native born Americans won't take them.
I do think there should be a guest worker program so that the people who do this work are legally here, and tracked. But we do need these people.
To: EggsAckley
IMO, let them have San Francisco, but stay the hell away from San Diego and all the military installations therein. :)
To: virgil
The problem is, Fox is not only making the US weaker, but he's also making his own country a bloody wreck. Mexico is ripe for some unsavory influence from outsiders, I fear, and I don't mean communists.
